Henry and Esther Schein opened the doors of their pharmacy in 1932 with a belief that a special culture, deeply-held values, and a commitment to the community would prove a recipe for success. Over nearly nine decades, we've adhered to the idea that "doing good" for the professions and communities we serve allows the Company to "do well."

Our culture is built on the belief that every person is as important as the next. This "Team Schein" culture is integral to our business and at the core of our Team Schein Community Service initiatives. “Team Schein is a tight knit-group — especially the sales reps. I’ve met some of my closest friends thanks to my career here and we're involved in each other's lives, personally and professionally. When we heard that our colleague and good friend's sister, who had been battling cancer, was accepted into a clinical trial, we were thrilled for him. But the trial would be lengthy and was located out-of-state — making it financially impossible for his parents to go with her. 'Why don't we raise the money for them?' It was an idea that took hold almost immediately, driving us to reach out to other colleagues within the Company, none of whom hesitated to help. Donations poured in and the funds came together quickly. We called our friend in for a ‘meeting’ and to his surprise, handed him the money that would allow his family to be together throughout the entirety of his sister's treatment.
