Great place to work
Hospitality Instructor, HR Instructor (Former Employee) –  Brampton, ON7 January 2019
It is a good place to work. The teachers are great and the environment is like a family. You learn to improvise, adapt and over come. Great benefits and salaries.

Another paper school
N/A (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON13 September 2018
employees are friendly and easy to get along with but the organization is bad with terrible pay its horrible and just another paper school to bring in people from china and india. education system in this college is a joke grade 9 or 10 max level. There is NO chance of growth and even if you some how get promotion the work you do does not reflect the pay. turn over rate is very high being here for the time period i was i saw some of the most humblest and nicest people used and let go and fired. the position they fill are with people who have degrees and diplomas yet the pay and the work you do is a joke, people here are doing 2 different field of work while being paid like a tim hortons worker, all the hard work you put in gets thrown off the balcony if you some how do not perform miraculously in one task, me along with other who choose to leave or was let go can tell you that this paper college take advantage of individuals. i suggest any one serious about their careers please avoid this place for long term it is not a feasible place and this is an honest review. i normally do not leave a review but i feel i had to this time. Trust me you are better off working some where else.
Pros
majority of employees are nice, occasional events
Cons
pay, job security, management, no growth

It’s good to get your foot in the door.
ESL Instructor (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON27 January 2018
Hanson’s a good place to start your career or if you’re in dire need of a job. When you first start working here it feels very good and everyone seems friendly everything seems organized until you get to the end of the course where you realize it’s just a paper school. Nobody but the teachers care about the process of learning or what the students have achieved students never fail it is a paper school nonetheless. You’re required to make your own arrangements if you’re sick/absent for whatever reason. Management isn’t as great as you thought it was they don’t care about anything other than numbers. Other than the students and passionate and friendly teachers everything else is the same as every other paper school out there.
Pays good tho

Terrible place to work
Academic Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON24 October 2017
If you care about education and these students do not work here. It is a business at the end of the day and they don't care about their students' education or bettering you professionally. Managers don't care about their staff and are incompetent. A lot of questionable behavior regarding academics and student services. This place will drain you as a professional and there is never support or training. Terrible communication amongst staff, managers etc. HR department is highly incompetent.
Pros
Student experience
Cons
everything else

Worst Place to Work
Instructor (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON29 September 2016
This is not a place to work if you really care about education and teaching. You are not allowed to fail students even if they never show up or write any exams.

Management only cares about money. They do not provide the level of education that students need to be successful. This college is just for international students to get their PR.
Cons
Not paid for any prep work, exam marking. Poor benefits. The management favours certain employees.

Happy and motivated work environment, with a fitness centre and liabrary.
Professor-Tourism & Hospitality (Current Employee) –  Brampton, ON11 February 2014
A typical day involved an eye for detail. In hospitality trade we get only one chance to make the first impression, understanding this is the key to marketing success.
Customer service, ensuring impeccable service to the customers, one customer at a time.
Strategic business plan and its implementation.
Operating cost and labour scheduling and cost control.
Reservations and inventory control

Most difficult part is difficult situation such as providing a flawless service to 500 customers in a wedding function amidst a power failure, still keeping the humour and ensuring all customers leave happy at the end of the function.

Most enjoyable part of the job is employee & associate engagement and motivation. Making 150 employees feel that the success inn the business was a result of their individual and collective efforts and not a result of effective planning and training provided by the management. The fun is to plan the activities in keeping with the business plan, selling the same to the associates so discreetly that they begin to believe that " it was their idea in the first place. Its fun to watch these motivated employees in action.
Pros
Freedom to entertain for business, free meals on duty, use of hotel automobiles and various industry perks
Cons
long working hours, perticularly on stat holidays and festive season.

Productive, Creative, Energetic and Fun
Hall Monitor (Former Employee) –  Brampton, ON13 January 2014
A typical day would be with instructing and motivating students to attend classes, assisting teachers with their paper work and sometimes in delivering the presentations, helping front desk officers with phone calls and other paper work, organizing record rooms etc.

I had a chance to learn Canadian working style, improve my inter-personal skills, organizational behavior and record keeping skills.

The management was very co-operative and very motivating.

Co-workers helped me in understanding the system and were very warm towards me.

Hardest part was motivating the students who carried a adamant attitude towards things.

Record keeping, organizing things and managing events was the most interesting and creative part.
Pros
Group lunches, good interactive sessions and weekly review sessions.
Cons
Un-predictable working hours.
