Great work and experiences. Terrible platform management. Many system flaws.
I enjoy working, so the ability to schedule my own work was great. You meet a lot of great people. You feel good after a long days work. Unfortunately, the platform itself had a lot of flaws. It's difficult for people to reschedule with you for future jobs. Then Handy also has he ability to just deactivate your account for no good reason. Greatly hindering your earning potential for a while. They have standards you must follow, and even though I had a 4.7 star rating, (which is awesome compared to many of the other Handy pros and the Handy app itself), I found myself locked out of my account for a bit. Great work and experiences. Terrible platform and management though.
Pros
The freedom to pick your own schedule. The cash tips. The quest bonuses.
Cons
No insurance, no 401k, no gas/mile reimbursement, platform has TONS of flaws

Overall about Handy
This is a nice app and easy to use. However there are a lot of flaws to it. The work is generally pretty easy however. What you get paid compared to what the customer pays is ridiculous. Close to 50 percent. Then on top of that they send out emails that have Pro pay attached. Which is when some jobs aren't getting attention and need to get done. I've lost thousands because they said prove it basically. The system doesn't let you go backwards to do that. Customer service fair.
Pros
Easy to use app and flexible schedule
Cons
Getting paid poor more cons then pros

Handy cheats the workers
Handy.com charges a customer $130 to assemble a 6-drawer dresser and pays the handyman $38 for two hours of work. If it takes longer than that (which it always does) then there are three options: 1. Get the customer to pay you in cash for you to get it finished. 2. Ask the customer to text you through the app with the sentence "I approve the extra time needed to finish the job." Handy says they pay for approved overtime, but sometimes they refuse. 3. Tell the customer "that's it, you only paid for two hours" and leave. You risk them giving you a bad rating, even though Handy knows it takes at least three hours to assemble a multi-drawer dresser or storage bed. Handy.com pays the worker 1/3 of what they charge the customer. Sometimes, after the job is done, the customer has other work for you, and you can agree to the fee, cutting Handy out of the deal. But if you reach out to the customer and ask them to cancel the job with Handy and pay you directly, don't do it through the Handy app. If you arrive for a job, and for some reason the job can't be done, Handy won't pay you. I was assigned a job of unclogging a toilet, and it said that no COI was required. When I arrived, the building superintendent said a COI was required (the customer lied) and I wasn't allowed in. Handy wouldn't pay me, even though I had to clear my schedule for the job.
Pros
Flexible hours, good for a side job.
Cons
Handy will rip you off if they can. Rip them off by going behind their back.
