Pays well, but staffing cuts have exposed toxic workplace culture

The most useful review selected by IndeedIt was very cool to work in the Spectator building for just over a year. But elements of the workplace culture can be pretty brutal. Some 'lifers' including a sports editor who is an out-and-out bully bring the place down.

The job was great stimulating challenging I loved it but I was also hated by most that worked there because I was an aggressive achiever with a very great work ethic

Fun place to work
INDIVIDUAL CONTRACTOR, THE HAMILTON SPECTATOR (Former Employee) - Hamilton, ON - 26 October 2018
It was great working with the Hamilton spectator and unfortunately when I no longer had access to a vehicle I had to end my employment! Fun place to work, great people to work with and hours were good.

Not a bad Company to work for
