It's all politics at HHS. It's more about who you know and who likes you. Management has their favorites. You will not advance here. HR department is corrupt. Some staff are miserable as they've seen alot of cutbacks and changes and not for the good. The Hospital itself is not clean. Patient care no longer exists and it's unfortunate as it's outta our hands. My coworkers are what keep me going everyday.

I am Just a new employee but my experience for the most part has been good. My co workers have been very helpful and supportive. I don't usually see management unless there's a problem.

Pay was decent, Vax mandate ruined a lot of careers. A lot of people we're fired based on a medical decision. No one seemed to care, Union has been slow to represent.

Good place to work, be prepared to learn a lot of medical terminology depending on what department you’re in. Management may give you a pat on the back instead of solving any issues.

You can have a career here but with the never ending Covid pandemic staff are stressed and burned out. Good company though and lots of opportunities in other areas

A overall good workplace

Over the three years I have worked here, there have been ups and downs. There are clinics who have amazing staff who work as a team and then there are clinics and units with poor management. It depends where you go and who you work for/with. Overall, I recommend HHS as long as you don't expect quick advancement.

Great group of people

The position could be very challenging and demanding at times. There are slow days and then there are overwhelming days. I do work with a great bunch of nurses and drs on the ward and we all help each other as best we can.

Hi Worked at Hamilton Health Sciences (McMaster Division) for 27 years. I worked in Medical Records, Admitting and the Emergency Department. I have learned so many jobs in my career at the hospital. Have learned how to work with many personalities and professional staff. Most of all, learned how to deal with patients.Having the patience and compassion of people that come for your help. When someone has an important role dealing with the public, is to put yourself in there situation and treat them how you would expect to be treated. The most enjoyable part of my job would be meeting so many people and having good friends the rest of my life.
