What is the best part of working at the company? My patients, a few co workers, that's about it. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Terrible , absolutely horrible managers in dialysis. Cankniving, power hungry, phony liars! Both of them!! They have NO clue how to lead and boost morale. Do NOT work in dialysis!!! Hospital or satellite! What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Awful (dialysis) lazy, opportunistic Charge nurses! , short staffed, not enough shifts, RN master schedule is pathetic! What is a typical day like for you at the company?Short staffed. Back stabbing, terrible staffing, no support from charge Nurse OR manager. Manager NEVER LISTENS!!, HER way or the highway. Vindictive liar!

Average

A lot of politics in management and this means, it is very hard to get anything done through them. Good co-workers but poor work/life balance due to poor staff retention, leading to more stress.

Not the best

Undertrained and constantly scheduled in areas I'm not trained for, communication is abysmal and the scheduling system is the worst. The amount of work you do is entirely dependant on which area you are scheduled in and the pay is relatively low compared to other hospitals.

Nice people but behind the times

Generally I found the staff at HHS welcoming and friendly. It keeps the feeling of being a small community where everyone knows each other and they do make some superficial efforts to provide employee recognition and reward. But I came from another hospital and was struck at how behind the times they are- in areas like clinical knowledge, current practice, scopes of practice, policy, and organizational structure. I’d heard the same observation from others who had worked there. But I was honestly shocked when I started working there about how profound it is, and by the resistance of physicians, staff, and management to adapt to more modern practice. Like many in leadership there, I had an very large portfolio (what 2-3 people should have shared) which significantly limited my ability to make any meaningful change (hence why they remain behind the times!).

Pros

Welcoming culture, friendly staff

Cons

Out of date practice, poor HR, very limited opportunity for growth

Positive Work Culture

The team help together to reach the organization's vision: exemplary experience always. They are supportive of learning. I am just looking for more scholarship opportunities for employees who are pursuing continuing education.

Great team but low wage

I like the team members here. Most of them are respectful and supportive. However, the wage is painfully low. I hear other hospital RPNs got wage increase recently but nothing is happening here as far as wage goes 😕

Great workplace, Great People

Great workplace to work... staff were helpful. My manager was so supportive and she's the best. I missed working in this workplace. Clean and state of the art facility

Good hospital

In summary, my experience with Halton Healthcare was nothing short of exceptional. The dedication, expertise, and compassion exhibited by the staff exceeded my expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend Halton Healthcare to anyone in need of outstanding medical care, as they have truly set a benchmark for excellence in healthcare provision.

Stressful and unappreciated

Modern building, well equipped with some caring staff and volunteers. What goes on behind the scenes is different. This lab staff being overworked in a toxic environment. This is well known by management and ignored. Too much time and money spent by management making the community believe that they care about staff and patients.

Horrible place to work

This hospital acts more like a US corporation than a hospital. Finances and saving money are more important to senior leadership than patient care or supporting staff. I have no doubt that there is a high level of corruption in this "corporation". Staff up to the management level are treated horribly, any level above that either spend their time patting each others backs or protecting themselves and each other for the corrupt behavior. Staffing is terrible because the hospital doesn't care, hence so is patient care. Do better Halton Healthcare, you're a hospital Act like one.

Pros

OK place to work until they no longer need you

Cons

toxic culture, hospital doesn't care, high corruption

Great Place to work

Halton is a great place to work, all the people around you are nice and respectful. I am an RN so pay depends on grid and not enough. The management is great, I feel like they listen. The workplace culture is different compared to other place I worked, you feel like you belong.

Good workplace

Beautiful hospital with very supportive staff and colleagues. Management and leadership are very supportive of my professional goals and are flexible with schedule. Only negative is pay is not competitive compared to other hospitals for NPs.

Awful

Management is awful, they couldn’t care less about you or patient safety . Always short staffed and if by chance you may be fully staffed , they pull staff away. Everyday working here I was risking my licence and sanity

Horrible management

Management never gets back to you. Slow with email responses. Majority of the time understaffed. High ratio numbers. Staff are generally nice. Extremely low pay.

Cons

Low pay

Short staffed, unsupportive management

This hospital is one of the cheaper organizations in regards to RPN pay in the area. Nice new interior, but absolutely atrocious operations. Constantly short and gaslit by upper management. Unsafe patient ratios. Not a conducive environment for learning or work-life balance.

Like Every Other Hospital

Just like every other hospital inpatient pharmacy. The automation is nice. The BS that goes on with Management behind closed doors is just like it is at every hospital I have worked at.

Pros

Up to date automation - no cartfill.

Cons

They don't pay overtime. Sick policy is stupid and screws over everyone.
