Guest Services Representative/ bartender (Former Employee) – Nakusp, BC – 25 November 2015
I Was employed at Halcyon Hot-Springs Resort and Spa for 6 months in 2014. The people I worked with were great and the entire staff seemed like a big family after a few weeks of being there.
Living on site was tough especially because the staff accommodation is extremely old and not well taken care of. there was lots of old issues and other sorts of problems with the "Chateau Atco" most of the employees stayed in. Wage and compensation is below average for a bc resort however should have been better due to the remoteness of the destination and the amount of money the resort made annually.
The resort itself is beautiful. Amazing accommodations, amazing view and relaxing atmosphere. I wouldn't work there again however some people may really enjoy it!
beautiful area to travel. Great people. Free access to springs.
Minimal days off, Remote location, Lonely lifestyle, below average wage, outdated and dirty staff accommodation
Dishwasher/Prep Cook (Former Employee) – Nakusp, BC – 7 September 2012
Very chill even when it's very busy. We are well communicated so not many problems until prep runs out. We were like a well oiled machine everyone has their responsibilities. Working as a team has never been more enjoyable especially with my best friends no other workplace can replicate the level of acceptance to be yourself. Everyday is a learning experience and the quality of the food shows that.
