Benefits are good. Management is understanding of work-life balance.Career advancement is available if one is willing to learn and follow policy and procedures. Decisions on hiring will depend on line managers as HR ,most of the time, mainly does the support and administration side of hiring. All in all a good place to work as HSBC brand is recognized globally.

HSBC claims they value their employees & I do agree there are good benefits & programs, however the management is the worst. Those favored will get a higher wage & annual bonuses. The CSR's are paid so little. There are branch's that are very rude & do not care for their employees well-being.

Retail branches are poorly managed, there is a lot of unrealistic sales pressure. Some people don't even get to take their lunches. Toxic work environment and low pay!

I did not have a positive experience and would not want to comment about it. I would not recommend this as a good work place. Poor training, no team work.

Great experience to perform some of my analytical skills and customer service ability. Responsible of managing a personal banking clientele portfolio, I play a direct role in identifying, satisfying customer needs and delivering high service quality in a daily basis. I am also responsible of promoting products and services, in accordance with AML/ATF policies, increase profitability of existing portfolio and seek new clientele via
internal and external referencing.

very poor training program. You need to stand alone in the second week once start. HSBC changes policies very frequency, so you must keep close attention to company policies.

I was expected to work over 10 hours a day with no overtime pay. Everyone in the office does it, so it is viewed as normal. There are great opportunities that you can collaborate with people from different departments or even countries.

My experience at HSBC was not very positive. I was only there for a few months and they reshuffled the staff at the bank. It is impossible for me to evaluate effectively.

Very demanding environment. Expect many unpaid hours. Benefits or very good and lots of perks to reduce costs of entertainment through Venngo. Terrible work life balance working at the branch level. They have a long way to go before they become the "best bank in town".
Pros

No work life balance if you want to succeed

The company is very sales oriented and put that at the forefront of the business. Training is very minimal in terms of once promoted into a new role. There are some very good people working for HSBC though that are enjoyable to work alongside.

An excellent bank and has many opportunities offer within the firm.Downside is that you have too many compliance procedures and regulatory requirements to follow.
