I was expected to work over 10 hours a day with no overtime pay. Everyone in the office does it, so it is viewed as normal. There are great opportunities that you can collaborate with people from different departments or even countries.

My experience at HSBC was not very positive. I was only there for a few months and they reshuffled the staff at the bank. It is impossible for me to evaluate effectively.

The company is very sales oriented and put that at the forefront of the business. Training is very minimal in terms of once promoted into a new role. There are some very good people working for HSBC though that are enjoyable to work alongside.

HSBC has gone through a change in culture. They have gone thru a round of layoffs and morale is low. Direction is uncertain. The culture is less on advice, but more on meeting targets.
