it was short time, I really enjoyed it. Learned lots, worked closely with manager (one on one). It was great experience. • Successfully performed all data entry and general administration duties effectively • Created, maintained and managed files and electronic data with extreme accuracy • Provided ongoing computer support: completed “Mail Merges” and generated “PDF forms” • Promptly attended to incoming mail and fax and distributed to appropriate personnel
As an international Financial Institution, employees are given an opportunity to grow and learn. There is a tremendous focus on quality and ethical service delivery where open communication is valued. Employees come ready to work and participate. Many roles are afforded flexible hours as well as remote work opportunities. HSBC is an impressive and progressive quality driven global employer interested in providing customers with a globally cohesive customer service experience and competitive products.
Flexible hours, remote work opportunities, Ongoing learning.
trending toward contract employment
job includes:Credit proposals customer due dilligence managment is adequate culture is not well organized advancement opportunites are not prominent management does not feel supportive of advancement lots of training offered low ceiling, good access to CEO
Good colleagues, great line manager, back office work suits me better personally. Management needs to put more effort in training temps, but does delegate work so that you learn the processes. Overall positive experience
Lunch room, free wifi, good management
Better training on the job would be nice to build on transferable skills
HSBC went through and is still very actively outsourcing most of technolgy jobs to India. They have taken the same approach and similar direction to most financial institutions. Offshore as much as possible to maximize profits.
Not many at all
no career opportunities
- A great place to learn, with good management and co-workers - Overall attitude in the office is warm and welcoming. - Everyone is encouraged to participate when possible. - As with any job, there is always stress, but i am happy that it comes from the job itself and not from anywhere else - All-together, it is a great environment to learn about the financial industry
Lots to learn
Can be stressful
Tasks are very repetitive and do not offer much experience, not much room for advancement within the team, awesome co-workers, worst shift work - no 2 consecutive days off, often asked to work 6 days a week, one extreme shift (start 7 am one day, two days later, start 4pm), management dismissive of suggestions. Great entry level position for students and young professionals. Apply within after 1 year as the organization is keen to internal hiring.
Lunches provided by building management, great co workers, easy tasks
inconsistent shift work, dismissive management
Your entire career here will be kissing rear ends for the privilege of being spoken down to everyday. It's one thing to be spoken down to by, say, the CEO, but when its a consistent stream of middle management donkeys with no real education or self worth, it becomes a little frustrating. I would say the pay is decent and security is sound, but the culture is very poor and riddled with agency-principal conflicts straight out of a management 101 textbook. Might be for you, not for me!
poor culture, ineffective and inexperienced leaders
