H&M Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M) is a Swedish fashion and retail company known for its range of trendy and fashionable clothing for women, men, teenagers and children. The company was founded in 1947 by Erling Persson in Västerås, Sweden. At that time, the company sold only women's clothing and was called Hennes, which means "hair" in Swedish. In 1968, Persson bought Mauritz Widforss, a shop in Stockholm that specialised in hunting gear but also sold men's clothing. He renamed the shop Hennes & Mauritz, which was later shortened to H&M.

The H&M group consists of six independent brands: H&M, COS, Monki, Weekday, & Other Stories and ARKET. We have over 4,200 shops in 76 markets around the world.

We want to lead by example when it comes to fashion and sustainability. In this context, our employees play a key role and can contribute to more sustainable fashion, now and in the future. We want to enable everyone to choose a sustainable lifestyle and, in short, enable everyone to look good, feel good and do good!

Great part time work
I worked for H&M for the first 7 years it was open in my city and have no negative things to say about the company on a whole. You can always get iffy management at any retail store but still by far the best part time work I’d had. There were flexible hours, decent employee perks and the work was fun. No major sales goals (just an overall store goal) and no pressure to sell, just simple customer...

Good Hours , horrible staff
Great hours and good discounts, however at this location the staff and most management created a hostile environment, very high school. A lot of work politics for a minimum wage job

Management makes or breaks it
Management at my location were not team leaders and instead just bossed you around, they took out their bad days on us and hurt the morale of the sales associate at my location. They also hovered over you and micro-managed everything you did.

Overall it was nice, management was not that good but cant say they were worse. Its nice if you want a part time job to have some money and you also learn a lot of things

Not the best, but not the worst workplace
Days can be extremely fast paced or slow depending on time of the year. Management is okay. Days feel repetitive but you do have a variety of positions to work in throughout the day. You’re watched on how many member scans you get from customers and the percentage they want always gets higher and higher. Having a good relationship with your coworkers will make a huge difference with your work day....
