Youth and Family Support Services Worker (Current Employee) –  North York, ON25 February 2017
A typical week work consists of meeting with clients for individual and family counselling, writing reports, visiting program-sites, completing case notes and other administrative duties, attending team clinical meetings, service coordination and case management.
The company allows a lot of autonomy and one can create their own schedule with their clients. The management is supportive. The other employees are approachable and friendly.

Child and Youth Worker - C.Y.W (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON6 May 2015
Griffin Centre is an amazing place of employment. The progress they accomplish with their youth is astonishing. Helping youth reintegrate into their families, maintaining the safety of both these youth and their care givers. Behaviour modification is a big part of what they do in this program and the staff are all competent at doing so.
Pros
Supportive Staff Team

Student Worker (Former Employee) –  All across Toronto18 December 2014
I would go to a meeting place and as a group would go to different job sites. I learned how to work in a warehouse, food banks and in gardens. We were always supervised at every job site, my co-workers helpful and fun to be around. The difficult part of my job was working in the gardens all summer. Knowing I'm getting work experience.
Pros
Fun people to be around
Cons
Back breaking work

Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON6 January 2013
The NGO Griffin Centre seeks to help adults and youth with addiction and disability. There the company offered a fun integrative orientation program where I was happily greeted by the staff. I learned the ins and outs of the job through a young mentor who had previously done the job as well. It was enjoyable to go to work and the people were incredible to work with. Unfortunately the benefits and salary were low but that is expected with a not-for-profit corporation. Overall an incredible place to work where I learned a variety of skills and offered lots of opportunity for advancement.
Pros
friendly attitude, great advancement opportunities, incredible mission goals
Cons
low pay/benefits

Elect-to-work Staff (Current Employee) –  Etobicoke, ON25 April 2012
Great Place to work, very inviting, great staff, good atmosphere. You need to be able to work with mental health youth though. Don't have a thin skin, cause the clients will eat you alive!
