Going into this position everything seems upbeat/positive. Training staff are friendly and helpful.

As you attend mandatory weekly company meetings you are exposed to the work culture and values of the company stressing conformity and buy-in to investment "skin in the game". So long as you work hard with minimal interaction with coworkers you will do fine.

The workload in the warehouse can be immense and overwhelming with many procedures that can change almost weekly. It's a lot to wrap your head around. Management has little tolerance for failure and does not value input. Frequent check-ins by management are distracting, stressful and mostly unproductive.

HR will check in with a few times the first few months and then gradually disappear. There is no clear method of getting in contact with them to give feedback.

The more than fair pay and benefit package help to off-set the negatives. But management needs to learn to address issues constructively and accept feedback to help employees to grow and thrive as to work more effectively.

People here are toxic and backstabbers especially the management. Usually the managers are there to help you but not in Gregg’s. Managers are there to snitch and tell the owner your every mistakes. The owner likes to micromanage everything. For example if you were working from another location you still have to call the owner if you are going to call in sick eventhough your location has its own managers.

if you like being micro managed, belittled, unsupported, and constantly stressed, then this is the company for you!
don't ask questions, don't be yourself, definitely do not smile or laugh ever!

miserable, fake, liars and con artists prosper!!!!!

there are a some good people and some good practices, but not nearly enough to outweigh the negativity.
Pros

Woking at Gregg Distribution was an amazing experience for a job. They created a family atmosphere and looked after their employees. I would recommend Gregg's to anyone.

Very stressful work environment, pay is good but not worth what you have to go through. Your not allowed to talk to other employees if caught your treated like a child getting in trouble by a parent. Im pretty sure they have employees that are there to spy on other employees, just not a very good work environment

I was let go after 1 month because I was talking too much at the packing tables. Long term employees have no problem telling superiors that you took an extra minute for your lunch break, or that you talk too much.
Great pay, but a cult that if you don't drink the kool-aid you won't last long.

You had to keep busy all the time even if it's slow you can't talk to customers, which is part of customers service. When you get a phone call you have to fill a sheet how many minutes you were on the phone so they doc you on your vacation time. But when you work over time there no sheet to fill out to get over time. They have a schedule when to take your breaks . What it comes down to it were just robots doing there cleaning to cheap to hire people to clean the washrooms and Windows we have to do it part of our job. When your a salesman they expect you to use your own vehicle no gas allowance most companys supplies a vehicle so you won't rack up miles on yours but Greig Isnt going to chip in why rack up milage on your vehicle and have to buy a new one he won't buy you a vehicle for you so why do him that favour. Oh god forbide if you get hurt even with a doctor's note saying work for 4 hours for 3 weeks then 6 hours for 3 weeks well after only working for 4 hours for3 weeks I had a choice go back to work full time or quite I should of took him to the labour board. So no I don't have good things to say about this company.

Toxic, stressful environment. Do not follow parameters of Labor Standards and no job security. Management is a good ole boys club, with no respect for the employees only in high margins!

I've had almost a decade in the industry and Gregg's is by far the best place I've been so far. They might be considered "micro-managed" but it is completely necessary for a business of their size that prides itself on being 100% Canadian. If they weren't so well-managed half of our jobs, if not more, would be outsourced to cheaper countries.

They believe in "going hard and going home." You're there from 8-5 to work. Then at 5PM clock out and go home, go have fun, spend time with your family, whatever you want to do. But while you are there you're expected to work and that means you do have to follow some company policies that aren't very common. No, you're not allowed to drink coffee at your desk. No, you can't use your cell phone in specific areas. Does this sound crazy? Yes. However, in my opinion, and after coming from work places with very little structure or company policies I am extremely grateful for their level of equality that stretches literally between all departments. That means tip top management is following the same policies as the order pickers, and admin staff, the mechanics and janitorial staff. Everyone has to abide by the same rules. That means no ones getting special treatment. If you're used to getting your way and if you like taking advantage of your job and, in the end, creating more work for others then this is not the place for you.

Gregg's also has an impeccable system in place where each employee's day is filled up with a perfect amount tasks and duties so that you're simultaneously not bored (because you are constantly working when you're

Do not work here! They make it seem so good but its the complete opposite. This company treats most people very unfair. There are not a lot of people that are happy to work here. They want you to buy into every little thing from wearing bracelets, to how you answer the phones and talk to customers at the counter, extra time they want you to put into the company for no pay, participate in everything. Any conversation that does not start with "I love Gregg's" is a negative conversation to them. They start the work week every week with there gossip to the employees which is nothing but negativity usually. I do not think they know the definition of constructive criticism, they just criticize and offer no solutions. It is very rare you will ever be told you are doing something right. Good luck and God speed to anyone that attempts to work here. Management does not wanna even be there everyday, but they sold their soul and forgot who they were along time ago.

toxic and unprofessional place to work. poor management and disregard for safety..they're good at making it sound like a great place but it is not! Its almost a cult like atmosphere with many rules to follow and definitely don't like people that speak out or ask questions. They pay everyone salaries so they can "let you go" for any reason just by paying you out. Garry Gregg is a control freak and

It's a job. They have benefits too. Not very approachable management. They have policy called lost time, whereby if you use as little as one minute of company time like being late for work or take a call on company time you have to fill out a report, and that time is deducted from your pay.
