Great team to work with, opportunities to advance and really feel like you are a part of the companies growth. Fantastic to see how focused everybody is on making sure customers are all set. Some of the creative problem solving/solution finding for unique requests has been super cool to see and be a part of.

Good culture

A good culture to work, techs are very happy, sales needs some work, they hold inventory too long and overpriced. Try to make too much money on each sale rather than low cost high volume increased revenue on parts and service. Culture is good, good people, honest, reliable. Pay is good. Treated with respect. Good company to work at as long as they become more sales aware.

Branch level operations are good, parts can be hard to come by. There is a bit of a disconnect between branch, regional management and head office but that's not hard to get around.

Great place to work, when covid didn’t shut us down. Having to pay to travel wasn’t great but usually double time made up for it. I’d go back if the contract was right!

Poor communication, poor management

Nobody is on the same page and internally each department argues. Can’t progress or move forward. Super unorganized. Stuck in old ways. Was told benifits would kick in after 3 months. Had to wait two months longer for whatever reason. Was lied to. Job description wasn’t what was told.

Love My Job

I love working for GWE and actually enjoy coming in to work Mon-Fri. I work with a fantastic group of people that feel like family. Even on stressful and busy days, there is still lots of laughter and comradery. It can be fast paced with some long hours (especially around month-end), but the fun atmosphere makes up for it. All branches are different, but I love my Nanaimo team.

Great Career Company

This company has a family feel. It's large enough to have the perks of a large company, and small enough to be personal. The owners and management care about developing their people and promoting from within whenever they can. You are never a number here, and people really do care about you. Management is flexible and reasonable and they work hard to be sure that all employees have a job to come to, even through economic downturns and COVID. I find it hard to believe people can be critical of this company. Probably because management and employees are a strong, collaborative team and people with poor work ethic and negative attitudes do not fit in well - they leave.

Great people, Poor management.

Great company with a lot of culture. HR is exclusive for executives, not the employees. Middle management is very poor quality, and lacks skill. Upper management very petty. Excessive swearing leading a poor work environment.Stress not worth salary.

Staff bbq’s increase moral and distract workers from poor managements

A decent place to work.

A decent place to work. The training is all "in house". The company is generally a close knit group of people.One draw back is that Volvo has a narrow product line which limits the customer base.

lot's of earning potential in our area for csr

lot's of territory to cover with minimal companies in most of the region, besides Kitimat, customers don't call csr direct because they are used to calling the office and talking directly to the parts people, which is fine as long as the company realizes that you are out there doing your part. can be long hours, some travel on sundays to be in the area that your to work in.

I loved going to work at great west, the team was great and I had the opportunity to learn from highly skilled professionals. They always kept us busy, while keeping a close watch on our needs as workers. No two jobs were identical so boredom was never an option, always growing and learning.

Great staff to work with
