still learning their way through the industry, therefore there is lots of employee turnover. Also, there is not any future job security due to lack of future projects.

No one know anything about the job , they promised something in the beginning but as soon as you’ve done what they needed the most , your time is up .
Getting paid ones in a 7 weeks . If you ask why , they will say bye

NO LOYALTY WHATSOEVER, owner and management don’t even know what the LOYALTY means .

The Owner knows nothing about construction.

I later found out that this company has a revolving door with past employees.

Majority of the staff speak Mandarin in front of you so you can't understand what they are saying. The owner doesn't speak to you, he get's the staff to rely messages.

Very disorganized and if you question the owner, you time could be shortened there.

Most of the employees are young and inexperienced. You can't rely on them for 100% help or to get things done properly.

The non-Chinese staff have to always look over shoulder.

If you do get hired. don't take it as a long term job. Most people there haven't been there long.

Job Culture
You are lied to at the interview about your role and company culture, but once you start working there you realized that not only are you not doing the work you were hired for, you have to fill other roles that were abandoned by coworkers that have quit or abruptly let go and they never hired them back.

Getting called by the owners after hours on the weekends is quite normal. Getting called to stay behind for a 2+ hours meeting right at 5 PM is normal and frequent. Not getting paid overtime when being asked to stay overtime is normal. Getting bullied at work is normal. Being told not to get ambitious because there is no advancement at work despite being told the opposite is normal. Being constantly watched remotely by cameras installed is normal. Feeling dispensable is normal because you are. Nepotism is normal.

There are just too many terrible things about working there, the semi-decent salary isn't worth the trauma and hours and hours of unmentioned overtime.

Even if you leave there is no one from there you can even use as an acceptable reference.
Pros
They use Apple phones, and seem caring when you call in sick
Cons
Rude micro-managing bosses, bullying by coworkers, lies at interview and at work, incompetent management, nepotism, feeling dispensable, no overtime pay

This new builder has little to no knowledge of the Canadian building industry. Very little pride in finished product. Bad hiring and employment practices.
