Government of Canada Employee Review

Micromanaging and constantly being scrutinized

Chained to your desk and dealing with micro managers and being scrutinized and listened to all day long. No opportunity to move around to other departments or jobs

Great job to work at! You feel like you have a purpose

Loved what I did there, did not like the way they handle employee review/mentoring. If you make what somebody above you perceived as an error you can be dismissed, even if you can prove you were within protocol and guidelines set forth by those above you.

It’s a tough position

Definitely the most mentally straining job I’ve had. Something that is definitely not for everyone. You have a huge responsibility to the people to do your absolute best. Don’t feel bad if you don’t make it to the very end. Phoenix pay system was a big pain to deal with. Everyone associated with your roll understands what responsibility’s you have and does their best to make your day better. Take your breaks, you need them.

Pros

Amazing people

Cons

Mentally straining
