If you like working long hours, getting minimal pay and lots of stress. Then Golder is the place for you.

Environmental Technician (Former Employee) - London, ON - 17 June 2020

Golder is good place to get your foot in the door of the industry but that's it. I would never suggest anyone to start working there and here's why. Salary was minimal, raises are pretty much obsolete, no work/life balance, no organization, absolutely no employee loyalty, sporadic work hours, barley any training and the list goes on. I can honestly say that I've never worked for such a currupt company in my life. If you like working long hours, getting minimal pay and lots of stress. Then Golder is the place for you.

Pros

The odd time such would be provided.

Cons

Pretty much everything.

It's a good place to work if the PMs like you otherwise you will be working very little. Its definitely a good place to get your feet wet and you could definitely stay there for a long time

World Class Technical Community

Golder Associates holds high accountability for the services that they provide. There are technical community for all aspects of environmental consulting that span the globe. With a variety of projects that are completed by Golder, experience is the greatest currency that is will be gained by employees.

Pros

Technical communities, variety of project scopes, reputation, reliability of technical expertise.

Cons

Low wages, long hours, minimal work/life balance, office culture.

This job has a wide range of tasks and experiences. From days within the office doing busy work to traveling to different towns for field work. This is a fast paced industry.

By far the worst place I've ever worked

Micro manged... Would even call my cell if I went to the washroom without asking. They tried to get me to come in after I had surgery (not work related) while I was short term disability. Constant intimidation an treats to fire if you don't do what they say. Kept trying to get me to work out of town ( upto 4 hours away), when that wasn't even mentioned in the interview. Upper management is horrible...constantly making employees cry , making them upset. Watched over my shoulder and made me chose and write answers for the 50 best company survey. What a joke... No wonder they made the cut when managment gets to fill out the survey instead of the employee.

Micromanaged, intimidation, dishonest

Good work life balance

Was a good place to work, friendly people, good social atmosphere, social events like soccer, hockey, baseball, bbqs. Management not the best organized. Micromanagers.
