They make it mandatory to wear safety glasses that blur your vision but could care less that you are working 20 feet off the ground on top of trucks without a harness or even anywhere to hook up to.

GFL will promote safety all day long.
This is funny, there is an actual handout that tells you how to stay cool in extremely hot weather. It literally tells you to drink plenty of fluids throughout your day to prevent dehydration. The coveralls you are expected to wear in the summer heat is a fire retardant suit. They are heavy and they do not breathe well at all. Working in these suits is very uncomfortable. Battling the summer heat is a challenge. To satisfy the concern of over-heating, water packs were given out for employees to wear underneath the heavy suits. after about 40 min, it simply became an extra 20lbs to carry. When the temperature is hot and muggy, unfortunately you are just going to have to deal with it.
