Registered Nurse in 1North

Great team work on 1 North. Collaboration with physio, occupational therapy, physicians etc.
Great support and teamwork on 1 North. Friendly environment and nurses support each other. Heavy workload and often short staffed. Often asked to work overtime. Given opportunities to learn. MLT in Midland, ON

Great place to work
I absolutely love the people that I work with. We are a smaller department but are more like family than coworkers. We’ve been fortunate to receive multiple pieces of new equipment thanks to the generous gifts of local donors. Georgian Bay is stunning, so home life has lots of adventure for the outdoorsy types. Definitely enjoying my time here. Medical Laboratory Technologist in Midland, ON

Great colleagues and management
Working at Georgian Bay General Hospital in the laboratory as an MLT is great. The staff are friendly and welcoming and management is amazing and considerate. I recently started here in July of 2022 and so far it’s been great. Management was accommodating for letting me have the time off I needed for my sister’s wedding that happened in October of 2022. The workload is higher than the laboratory I had originally worked at up North, but as a team it is definitely manageable. If you’re busy in blood bank, your colleagues will be team players and will manage the rest of the lab while you concentrate on important blood banking. Also, the technology we have is great. Currently we use the Sysmex for Hematology, the Stago for Coagulation, Vitros for Chemistry, the BD Max for PCR, the GEM5000 for blood gases, and a mix of Gel cards/tube methods for Transfusion Medicine. We don’t have a Microbiology or Histopathology department, so the focus is on core lab.Laboratory Technician in Midland, ON

Great place to work!!
This small town hospital has become my second home over the last 8 years and I really enjoy working here! It can be busy and stressful, but it is also fun, exciting and extremely rewarding. I have found that the people that work here are kind, generous team players and the management staff are engaged and supportive. Medical Laboratory Technologist in Midland, ON

Family Culture
GBGH is one big family. They were very understanding through COVID and allowed me to take the time when I needed it to balance homeschooling and work. What would you say about your employer?
