Great place to work on the local level

On a local level usually, the people you work with are great, my managers have been some of the best bosses I've had and really flexible, especially regarding education or Church. On the other hand corporate like to come up with incredibly stupid policies, and horrible ways of discounting their employees on stuff, if something needs to be fixed in the store you can expect it to be fixed 4-5 years ...

it's a grocery store

Not a bad place to work when the store first opened. The environment/culture was very positive and uplifting differentiating from other big chain grocery stores. Unfortunately over time, Just like any business. Corporate decided it was time to start cutting hours and raise gross profit demands to maximize overall gross.
