Going through a major transition period
Environmental Professional (Former Employee) –  Fort St. John, BC13 February 2018
Gemini, particularly the Fort St John office, is going through a major "transition period". Over the 6 months I was there, all but one of the management staff left (out of 6-8 people) left, as did many of the professionals. The corporation as a whole is very reluctant to spend any money on equipment (even to maintain existing equipment) or staff training.

Horrible
Apprentice Electrician (Former Employee) –  Ponoka, AB5 February 2018
No organization with management. Don't have proper materials to complete tasks and yelled at for things out of your control. Warm up shacks always out of propane for heaters so no warm up breaks allowed. Told 40hrs a week when hired and then told 70hrs a week mandatory. Terrible place to work.

Good starter company
Project Coordinator (Former Employee) –  various8 January 2018
Good company to start a career. Unfortunately company culture really deteriorated over the last few years. Little room for upward or productive lateral movement. Lots of opportunity to learn about working in a primarily oilfield-centric environment.

Project Engineer (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB16 October 2017
It has been a long time but I did enjoy the people I worked with there and had a great manager. However, I believe the culture has changed a lot and even at the time they were drifting away from small projects to a large project focus. I can't comment on how things are now.

Not focused on Employee growth
Business (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB4 May 2017
Not a great focus on work/life balance, company culture is lacking. This used to be a good place to work, with the company focused on core values, being people, but that isn't a focus anymore. There are some great people at this company, but for the most part, middle managers are not strong at leading people.

Comunication is non-existant between team members and other business units.

Project/Process Engineer (EIT) (Former Employee) –  Ponoka, AB21 January 2016
1- Good place to work and have fun working
2-Friendly environment
3- Supportive managers
4- Unfortunately suffers from below average salary figures, poor high management performance and mediocre business development team, combined with tumbling price of oil, struggling greatly to cope with market conditions and has sequentially lost a significant number of its staff

Project Controller (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB4 February 2015
A company with 200+ people in Calgary means that you get to meet and chat with the executives on a regular basis. It's a good group of people and you get learn from everyone.

Project Document Controller (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB18 March 2014
A typical day at Gemini when working in the document control office I would receive documents/drawings from the PE/PM and to a QA check on them to make sure everything was correct and nothing was missing.
If items were correct, I would then enter the drawing/document numbers into our data base for record with the correct reason for issue and the correct REV number. After that, a transmittal is created with a listing of all the items being issued out to the client/vendor along with PDF version of the document/drawings.
