Lie and break the law or fail probation
Loss Prevention Officer (Former Employee) –  Ottawa, ON8 April 2017
Management is disorganized you have to remind them 8 times for simple things... If you work Loss prevention you need to break the law on every arrest or your training officer gives you terrible reviews. training officer re writes your reports to make himself look good. Some Co workers are good where others are down right assaultive to accused persons then cover it up. All and all not enough pay for what you deal with on a regular bases.
Pros
Friendly non g4s staff
Cons
Lies, breaking the law, cover ups

Loss Prevention Officer{trainer} (Current Employee) –  Oshawa, ON27 September 2016
busy, hard work, great amount of paper work/ reports, hardest part of the job is working with individuals who may not work as hard as you or care as much, but if you are able to focus just on yourself, all will be ok.

Loss Prevention Officer (Coach Officer) (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON9 June 2014
The hardest part of my job is that you need to be physically fit and able to restrain subjects, make arrests and have good judgement call. As a loss prevention officer, working in the LCBO it helped me develop excellent communication skills both verbal and non verbal. You need to be able to trust your co-workers as you work in pairs all the time.

They will leave you out to dry. One thing goes wrong and you are pushed under the table. They don't pay for travel. Management care about themselves and not the workers under them.
Cons
almost everything
