Areas for improvement
- Clear sense of purpose
- Ability to learn new things
- Trust in colleagues
Beware
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Oshawa, ON - 21 April 2022
Don`t say you weren`t warned. Horrible conditions. Minimum pay for outrageous work. Constant standing. Breaks are over before they start. Freezing. Environment is not welcoming. You are treated like animals. Herded onto the floor.

Terrible place to work
Production Worker (Former Employee) - Whitby, ON - 2 March 2021
The job is not difficult, but working with poor management is. There is a lot of favouritism toward friends/family of the managers who work there. The managers do not know how to delegate tasks, and have frequent power trips when employees try to take initiative.
Pros
Great Co-workers
Cons
Non-consistent hours, poor management, poor wages

Management
Janitor (Former Employee) - Oshawa, ON - 8 February 2021
Work started off great management for premier was friendly and good to work for but after a while you get to know how they really are and higher management protects their staff that should be gone and fire great workers who done more then a little extra over something stupid they don't follow their guidelines at all or anything terrible place to work
Cons
Everything about premier management

Horrible toxic workplace
Porter (Former Employee) - Oshawa, ON - 5 October 2020
Horrible place to work at, basically the Premier management force you to be overworked 6-7 days a week and do not care about injuries or health conditions and well being of everyone. Work environment is unsafe whatsoever and they pick on people's performance.

None

Cold environment , long hours without recommended breaks
Production Line Worker (Former Employee) - Oshawa, ON - 9 May 2020
A cold working environment requiring one to put on layers of clothing to keep warm, repetitive tasks in one place, little room for advancement and breaks are very few.

Quality Assurance and Qulaity Control Technician (Former Employee) - Oshawa, ON - 1 December 2019
I would like to recommend my friend to work over there in terms of job prospects. but, it is cold environment where it is not easy to compete with inside temperature. management is responsive in terms of all work related issues and provide support to all your major activities of life.

Depends what you care about
Line Leader (Former Employee) - Oshawa, ON - 8 August 2019
Opportunity for as much overtime as you want I was working around 70 hours every week bringing home 1000 dollars weekly but management is horrible very limited breaks and nowhere to move upwards the only promotion you may ever see is becoming line lead which gets you a million times more responsibility for only a dollar more and they probably wont give you the dollar for like a year lol if you dont care about anything at all and just want to make money I would reccomend it for the overtime but if you want to be treated like a human and care about being respected than no I would not reccomend

A nice place to work in.
Plant /Agricultural diesel mechanic (Current Employee) - Workshop and field service - 6 August 2019
Del Monte Kenya is one of the leading companies in Kenya and the world at large. They are all types of machines one needs to get experience on. The structures of the organization are well laid out and are easy to understand.
Pros
It is an all year farming company
Cons
Cultivation area is not enough.

Unsafe and Poor management
Not giving this out (Former Employee) - 940 Thornton Rd S - 10 June 2019
The company Premier Canada that Del Monte uses to hire people literally hire anyone and everyone who applies because they cannot keep people there long enough. The day time staff get worked to the bone sometimes forced to work double shifts. Managers write you up if you go for your scheduled break if they say "No break". You get 1 break after 4 hours for your lunch and then you're supposed to have a 15 minute break later on but they refuse to give it 9/10 times. Afternoon staff get hired on as "Full-Time" but are often sent home within 3-4 hours and more often than not their shifts get cancelled. On a daily basis there are numerous safety hazards. Pallets standing up at 90 degrees is not only unsafe but illegal without a guard rail and you can find several daily which could fall over and break your ankle as these pallets are wet and frozen. The chute they toss the scraps in go into a the waste room where the attendant has had MULTIPLE broken knives come flying through at high speeds and almost impaled him twice within a week. Management will change your schedule last minute before a stat holiday and forces you to come in on days you cannot (even if its not your regular schedule) and claims you wont get stat pay if you don't. Some employees have been sent home because they had a cigarette on their break and smelled like cigarette (what do you expect its their break and 90% of your employees smoke?). I could list even more things wrong with this place but its not ideal and I do NOT recommend working for these clowns.
Pros
It's a job (an unstable one but a job)
Cons
You will always be a temp employee so they dont care about you.

Demanding life absorbing
Janitor/Cleaner (Current Employee) - Oshawa, ON - 15 May 2019
Premier Manages the wprkers for DelMonte and Premire is very unprofessional. Premier management creates a toxic work enviorment forcing people to work long hours in a 6 day work week and weekends. Paychecks are constantly mixed or short pay up and staff is inexpierenced. Del Monte Management are much more worker friendly. Found many good friends in Del Monte management and workers unfortunately Premire runs workers not Del Monte
Pros
great people you work with
Cons
min wage for max work hrs+little home life No long weekends

It was a good experience working at Delmonte. They really take customer service on a priority basis, as it is known by its Quality of Food. I would consider working at Delmonte.
