Dependability. Reliability. Loyalty. Commitment.
Our founder, Branden Soroka, grew up in the outdoors as a young child starting with snowmobiling and checking traps on his grandfather's trapline. Branden learned the ropes of the forest industry by attending many client meetings with his father. "My love for wildlife and the outdoors really had me – more...looking into post-secondary education related to sustainable land use in Alberta." Forestry school allowed Branden to understand the principles of sustainable land management. During his time at NAIT Forest Technology, he became extremely interested in the environmental aspects of the industry. Branden spent one summer working at the boreal research institute in Peace River which focused on lease site reclamation. He then started working hands-on in the forest industry for his father's company.
By starting his career very hands-on and working in the woods full time for three years right out of school, Branden was in a position to succeed in the industry of forestry and environmental services. Combining a background of environmental services and being able to implement this into the forestry industry, while having a great experience of operations (by running equipment for a construction company for the duration of 4 years during high school), this gave him a good insight into what will push the company ahead in the industry.
Our "Forteck" name originated from the program Branden took at NAIT Forest Technology, “Fortech.” Employees here at Forteck specifically enjoy turning problems into solutions, knowing that the more answers provided, the more successful our clients will be and in turn, the company. – less
