Jobs at Flex
Productive, fun, friendly, and ambitious workplace
Process Engineer Intern (Former Employee) - Milpitas, CA - 8 September 2018
The day is filled with an organized structure of tasks to complete. Many samples are tested and reports are written. I learned many technical skills, such as analyzing samples with an scanning electron microscope or EDX. Alongside, I greatly developed my soft skills, such as cooperation, teamwork, and leadership. The management was very helpful and well-structured, making it a very enjoyable internship experience. The workplace culture is extremely friendly, making it very easy to seek for help when needed. The hardest part of the job was to complete all of the deadlines and distribute my time wisely, as there were many tasks assigned throughout my internship. The most enjoyable part of the job was to work with a variety of people, while learning from them.

Solar Panel Quality Inspection (Former Employee) - Newmarket, ON - 29 March 2018
Work was easy and mind numbing but the people made it fun to work there. We got shut down a few months after they opened a new facility in mexico. Upper management kept stressing they weren't outsourcing but did little to make it appear otherwise.

Still stuck in its Contract EMS roots
Software Development Engineer (Former Employee) - Burlington, ON - 11 August 2017
Flex is trying to reinvent itself as an R&D company, but its organizational structures, internal policies, compensation and flexibility are still stuck in the manufacturing razor-thin profit margin mindset. Pay is on the low side of industry average and benefits/morale are mediocre due to the quarter-by-quarter, cut costs at any costs mentality. Entire offices/sites/departments are liquidated by management fiat, so it's not a great place to plan a long-term career.

Seemed good.
Consultant under sole proprietorship (Former Employee) - Kanata, ON - 28 June 2017
Wasn't there for long - seemed good. Management was present from time to time to back up recommendations. Just not much of a future in contract work there.
Pros
Backed up what you claimed.
Cons
Contract work
