Work-life Balance

Hairstylist in Ottawa, ON
on 1 July 2020
Enjoyable and satisfying
They dont give you emergency holiday if they are buzy. Your job is secure, you have health benefits. But on the other hand you can only ask for holiday but they have their own rules.
Apprentice Hairstylist in St. Thomas, ON
on 10 October 2020
The management team does not care to train staff effectively and will not allow apprentices to advance their skills. They are sales focused rather than actually being a hairstylist you become a pestering sales person.

Interview questions

Is this a good company to work for? Be honest and true.

They follow through with paperwork, ask if you have experience(even though it doesn't matter) if you like cutting hair. Do you meet the requirements..and then hire you and tell you that if you are unhappy with the schedule at all you have to find a stylist to fill your day and in fact you were given NO employees numbers. They keep ONLY enough people on schedule to make money and the one's on the schedule that make next to nothing maybe 2 days a week max out of 2 weeks. No one can survive raising a child or family on a schedule that is picked by favouritism. Beware if you work here and the manager doesn't like you, you will have a hard time making ends meet with bills. Your hours will get cut. Any time needed off will not be allowed. They are quick to fire employees. If you love doing hair this job is great for experience. Keep to your self and the job will be fine. Wish you the best of luck if you do go in for an interview with FCH. (Guelph locations)
