if you can deal with repetitive work its a good job. make friends and be social with management for increased benefits in the workplace. will be out of work for a couple months of the year. management needs to have netter communication with employees about whats happening. grateful for the job but not a life time workplace for me.
Great wages and benefits, especially for the work. Great work/life balance. Swing shift isn't too bad. As long as you do your work with a positive attitude, you'll be fine. Only downside is the security. Lay offs happen at random and there is the impending threat of the 3rd shift being cut.
I worked there for 30 years, lots of opportunity and learning experience, from production jobs to union positions. Great pay and lots of benefits. Two rotating shifts for production. Great place to apply if your a trade, electricians and millwright.
Jobs are bid on by seniority approximately every 2 years. The work is soul destroying and you will destroy your physical health. Most of management behave like bullies, will curse and name call with bad language. I have learned that your job is never safe, always worried about the next product or shift elimination. The only thing that could be enjoyable is the pay cheque, but that's not worth anything like it was 10 years ago. Most jobs are geared to a 35 year old, but most of us are over that age. Even if you bid on a job that appears good it won't last, they will add work to you. I walk close to 17000 steps in an 8 hour shift. My physical ailments include carpel tunnel, tennis elbow, bad hip and back.
physicall demanding, soul destroying, too hot all year, treated badly
