Fast pace

Very busy days, management was not that great as they would tell you what job you will be on minutes before your shift. The training for most jobs were not great either.

Fast paced work environment.

FCA is physically demanding job that requires shift work and weekends. You are well compensated for your work and the benefits are decent. Air tools and automated lifts are part of some of your jobs. There is great lateral movement with limited upward movement on the assembly lines. There is a good opportunity for management positions with a university degree. Overall I enjoyed my 20 years there.

Demanding work place

Good supportive colleagues to work with, occasional lunches and coffees, payed overtime (but at base rate), over demanding and judgmental management, overall better place to work.

Pros

Free lunches

Cons

Too much work load

Good job

Managements always a complete mess and no one ever seems to know what they're doing but besides that not many other complaints. Job has a good pay, meet interesting people and is a good pace for anyone to work. Life balance also is inconsistent as the shifts always change every 2 weeks.

Learning opportunities for young people

Depending on the job it is an interesting place to work with different degrees of difficulty. Engineering teams with quality engineers fun to work thru the various job issues but great group of people to work with from all departments. Hardest part of the job was my travel to and from the plant each day as I did not relocate my family to be closer to Brampton. Automotive world will teach you numerous learning lessons in safety , production , quality , responsiveness and finance all in a fast paced environment.

Fast paced environment

This company requires you to be a quick learner. The training is detailed, some supervisors are pleasant, others not so much. Pay does not match the labor-intense work.

Pros

lots of work

Cons

extremely short breaks

Great pay, bad management

Good place to work for making money. Management is more concerned about production than people. Typical large corporation with many moving parts and personalitys.

Pros

good money

Cons

bad shifts, breaks and lousy management

unique job culture with broad opportunities to grow and comprehensive lineup of unique jobs

Typical day of work consists of validating and inspecting fully assembled vehicles as they come off the lot. This would include test driving of automatic and manual vehicles to ensure vehicle safety and to look for any defects in workmanship. Alignment of vehicles and safety inspections. Vehicle assembly from start to finish including paint, doors and manufacturing processes. Management was firm but fair. Workplace culture was more of a solitary one as each employee needed to understand what was to be done and on a timely manner. Hardest part of job was lack of breaks and workign in a factory environment. Most enjoyable part of the job was how different the job was compared to all others.

Great

It is a great work environment with friendly people who are willing to help. Supervisors favour people to give more hours to, so typically are not given enough hours. Also do not have the opportunity for a raise as a TPT.

Good Place to work

I worked there for 30 years, lots of opportunity and learning experience, from production jobs to union positions. Great pay and lots of benefits. Two rotating shifts for production. Great place to apply if your a trade, electricians and millwright.

Typical day

My typical 8 hour day at work can consist of 2 hours of work then a 10 minute break, with a 20 minute lunch.. also a 10-15 minute relief included. The management is very average but the employees are friendly and can have great conversation while working throughout the day

From an hourly perspective it's a fairly good job, steady work and steady pay. Worked there over 20 years so far. I good place to get hard work experience in an salary capacity. Not for the faint of heart.

Pros

Hourly can be boring, salary can be combative

I worked productively and it was a great experience

A typical day at work i would train on a new job or train someone else and perform around 450 cars a day. I learned how to push myself and keep up with the changing dynamics

Incredibly Toxic

FCA Brampton Assembly is an incredibly toxic place to work in which the expectations are unreachable and the workforce is not provided the tools or knowledge in order to succeed. There is little advancement available and individuals who show work ethic are often over saturated with the work of others who do not complete it in a timely manner

Pros

Salary

Cons

Toxic, Negative, Bullying, Lack of Basic Management

Nice People and Nice Cars

Would generally get called to cover a shift of someone who may have called in sick or couldn't come in as well as if the supervisors were short staffed.
