Very bad management & HR dept
Package Handler (Former Employee) –  Belleville10 October 2018
Liked working as a Belleville package handler but management was horrible and accepted employee within that place after they threatened to stab another employee in the eye!!! no one felt safe and he continues to still work there.
As well the Outbound Management (C.Steers) always always picked on the employees belittling them and calling them names so I quit .

Partial, non-co-operative and dictator phillpino lady manager. Irregular working hours, if they have work they speak gently to do extra work otherwise yell at workers to go home.

Worst job ever
Package handler (Former Employee) –  Brandon, MB13 June 2018
No hours, bad wage and they don’t like too pay you. The management is completely incompetent. You will routinely have to deal with lazy coworkers that won’t help you move heavy boxes. Safety standards are lax at best. You’ll be lucky to be paid on time and for your full amount. They’re federally regulated which means your provincial workplace laws and rights go straight in the toilet. Worst job experience you will have hard work for no money do not apply

Worst place to work federal regulated
Package Handler (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB8 April 2018
This is the worst place to work. Please listen and stay away do not waste your time. It is federal regulated meaning no union or no help from the alberta standards act. Federal means you can show up to work and they can send you home if there is not enough hours which just wasted your gas and time and don’t get paid for it. They can call you and tell you short of volume and not to show up. Average hours are becoming 2 hours only if you get to work. They work you hard and fast and base their numbers on the time you leave making it look like the company is productive and doing good but no benefit to the employee if you are only work average 10 hours a week if not less. Pay cheques are like a 100 to 150 a week. You get written up for anything even if your late a minute and yet you don’t get hours. HR does not listen to employees and will not help so have to be cautious on your rights and speaking about matters because management will all team up on you if you say anything it’s not confidential. The attrition is high and they don’t care cause they feel they can always hire dummies. Never again will work for federal regulated company. Look for work with other companies instead such as dhl, ups, Canada post, etc.

Not much care given at all by management
Package Handler (Current Employee) –  Delta, BC26 January 2018
Working loading/sort as a package handler at FedEx in AM hours, are.. well interesting. They talk before every shift and tell you to say if anything's wrong or if there is a safety hazard. If you voice your opinion and say something's wrong and unsafe, they make it off to be your fault and or ignore it all together.
(wobbly shelves, package handlers that just avalanche in unload, people standing on rollers, drivers not properly parking up to the vanline, unprofessional managers.. I swear the list goes on)
It's acceptable for a short period of time.
In all honesty, I loved the job.. at first.
Pros
Friendly staff, decent pay, independence.
Cons
Short 3-4 hour shift, 2am shift, unprofessional managment, safety guidlines ignored, ect.

Package Handler, Clerk Tasks (Current Employee) –  Dorval, QC11 July 2017
Must know what to do without having to tell you what to do after training; must work as a team otherwise people will end up doing the task you've already done, must always communicate, must pay attention and be secure at all times as well.
Pros
Barbecue's every month
Cons
Not enough hours

No Advancement Antiquated Management Culture Bleak
Package Handler (Former Employee) –  Scarborough, ON12 April 2017
Work is very physical & dangerous. Hours are routinely cut in order that management can make quotas that are time specific & unreasonable.
Safety guidelines are widely ignored & workers are punished for voicing objections. Management are bullies straight from the 1950's - do as we say not as we do. Zero advancement within organization & a bleak job culture with no job position ever diversifying there. Company doesn't value their own workforce as employee retention is very low due to the maltreatment of workers & constant undermining of one's job performance. Management is not interested in improving the job environment & culture because it serves they're need for control & dominance. COMPLETELY HORRIBLE!!!!

Loading/unoading uld, amj and other aircraft containers. preparing them for take off. scanning every box and using perfect t-stacking methods to ensure the maximum amount of space is used per container. Management was friendly and very helpful and easy to approach if you were uncertain about anything personal, school or work related. The whole team ws amazing and friendly to work with. everyone was always helping each other if some ones station was getting over run with boxes/freight.

enjoyable workoplace
package handler (Former Employee) –  Whitby , On30 October 2013
it was typically easy we would wait for trucks to come in once they did, the trucks would then be unloaded scanned to know where the packages were going and place them in the proper location. Management was excellent they always made sure everyone understood and was following the code to safety and would have a little safety talk before each shift.
Pros
good pace
Cons
no real cons
