Operations Manager in Southwestern, Ontario
Fast paced work environment Fastenal is a great place to work and gain experience to kick start a career elsewhere as you do learn quite a bit if you’re willing to do so. If you’re determined and out in the time (years) there is opportunities for advancement but you must show your worth and communicate with district managers on a regular basis. Most general managers have no say in your career advancement and do no more than sit behind a desk barking orders with little to no recognition for your efforts. Pay is well below industry average working in a branch, not to mention commission calculators change regularly to favour the company. Benefits are average, and the amount of paid time off is poor. Fastenal is no more than a great stepping stone for other career/job opportunities.

Fun work place, really good cultureIt's really good place to work. Work culture is really good, everyone helps eachother whenever needed. Really good management. It is a good choice for entry level position, but there are not much opportunities for growth within the company.
Warehouse Associate in Stratford, ON
Good or Bad depends mostly on ManagementWorking at Fastenal depends mostly on which branch you work at. Mgmt at some are worthless and only care about themselves whereas some branches have excellent Managers and District Managers. Best to inquire ahead of time about the branch you are applying.
Supply Chain Specialist in Windsor, ON
Not a friendly place, very poor ManagementTotal waste of time, management have no technical education related to job functions, dirty warehouse setting with zero customer service, poorly managed stores.
Not an awful workplaceNice to you in some ways, like giving a long lunch, but not nice if you don't fit in and break your back for them. No advancement opportunities. Didn't pay attention to my resume, hired me for a position I "wasn't qualified for," and kind of blamed me.
