My experience at Farm Boy started out great-
Until they didn't train me for the job I was doing, (which was running a department,) Refused to pay me for all my hours worked (Over 100 unpaid hours), called me in on my days off for unpaid shifts, called me in on my vacation.. etc.
I wanted to step down, so I told them I could keep managing for 2 weeks, until they got a replacement.
The told me I needed to do 3 weeks, I agreed for the sake of getting my position.
After not getting my paperwork for my new supervisor position I was stepping down to, I became frustrated to find that they were just planning on letting me go at the end of my extended 3 weeks they begged me to work.
After some MORE negotiation, I managed to get a position in another store, only to find out they were paying me minimum wage to do a Managers job.
Needless to say, I walked out that day.
This company treats their staff so expendable and so terribly it blows my mind.
Do yourself a favor if they offer you management, and turn it down. They will work you until you cannot work anymore.
I haven't seen my family in over a year because of the rubbish this company subjected me to.
Managers walk out all the time in this company. There's no stability, and it's crumbling at the base - The people working in the retail locations.
Cons
Unpaid hours, unrealistic expectation, crooked/abusive upper management
