Most people hired don't stay long, usually leaving on their own accord. If you are willing to stick it out, there is decent job security. The benefits and vacation is also great. However, Child Protection is high stress and there is little support. There is considerable training, however, I found once on the job, I had little support, my manager was unavailable for support and consultation, and my workload was unmanageable.
For some, this is a job that will give experience and learning in the field that will be valuable to their career. Some people do make it their life long career.
