Lot of learning opportunity
Software Developer, Burlington (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON18 January 2020
There is a lot of learning opportunity in this company.
For new graduates it is a good place to start career.
This company pays much below market price.
Very good in terms of job security.

Great for single working professional
Project Manager - TV Broadcast System Engineering (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON18 November 2019
Service is hard to manage work life balance if you are over seeing several projects. Management expresses your concern and wants to help but little can really be done as staff if often spread thin.

There is very little connection/communication between departments which sometimes causes a disconnect or slow resolve when assisting customers.

Honestly its a great place to learn and grow in the broadcasting industry. Seriously do not regret my time here at all. It really sets you up to work for any other company in the industry. This is good because the salary is not very competitive in most support departments

Mill Culture
Student Design Engineer (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON2 October 2019
A Mill culture (grinding through staff, high turnover), or a bootcamp, is great to hone your skills as a co-op, but is not a good long-term career choice.
Pros
No micro managing
Cons
Had a meeting every 6 months.

Great environment
Stock Room Attendant (Current Employee) –  Burlington, ON25 September 2019
- Great environment but not ideal to stay long term for a young individual.
- Benefits are minimal but sufficient.
- Depending on current position, it's not as easy to get a better position.

Poorly managed and unprofessional
Customer Service Administrator (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON25 July 2019
Probably the worst company I've worked for. Service department isn't managed at all. The director is extremely unprofessional and lacks management skills, in that he doesn't even manage the department. Lots of profanity is flown around by the director; calls staff stupid, tells them to go away or eff off if he is busy. I do not recommend working here. Their product is awesome! But the company itself is poorly managed.

Great place to learn, but bad place to stay (no room for growth and low pay).
Failure Analysis Technician (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON18 June 2019
Amazing place for anyone starting right out of college (or Co-ops). The amount of knowledge that is available at your fingertips is tremendous, but you have to take the steps to learn yourself, most people won't teach you if you do not ask.

Most of the people are very helpful, polite, and considerate.

Management is fair and understanding, and helpful when you need them.

Workplace is very culturally diverse, where everyone has a group to fit in, but they are all friendly between each other. Most cultural holidays are celebrated, with lots of food and beverages from different cultures.

The only real issues are the low pay, small room for job growth, and the lack of communication between departments.
Pros
Knowledge, self-growth, friendly co-workers/management
Cons
Low pay, no room for positional growth, department communication problems

Relation between employer and the employee
SMT OPERATOR AND ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLER (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON18 June 2019
I want to join a workplace where there is good management, literally an effective management of human resources, material management, safety and good financial management which is cool for both employees and employer. The mutual behaviour and conduct in a workplace is so essential to keep work environment healthy and sobre. We have two types recognized health- physical health and mental health. Both party, employer and the employee should take care of these health to get rid of chaos. Chaotic environment is harmful to positive productivity. A work is accomplished by it's conclusion. Without cooperation, mutual understanding and good human relation no accomplishment is possible.

Work here while looking for jobs
Broadcast Engineer / Field Service Engineer (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON31 May 2019
1. Do not work here.
2. If you have no choice, work here and look for another position in the meantime.

In my ~2.5 years working at Evertz I quickly learned there is no movement, there is no self growth and there is no opportunity to prove yourself.

This company is a extremely old-fashioned american meat grinder company. You will be a number and nothing else.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
No self grow

Enterprise Support Engineer (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON29 March 2019
A job with no skill development and wont be able to find other job in near future. Your Title will make no sense other than if you are applying in their Test Department and you are Electronics graduate.

Great company for R&D engineering. but no room for advancement
DESIGN ENGINEER (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON26 March 2019
Great company for those interested in R&D design working with FPGA's and low-level software programming. Poor benefits and the company does not invest in their employees or foster advancements. The company does not respect their employees' work life balance, and often uses applied pressure and scare tactics as motivators. Bottom line, unless you really enjoy tinkering and building on your own self improvement, this is not a great company.

Project Engineer - R&D (Current Employee) –  Burlington, ON20 March 2019
Needless to say, its a survival of the fittest scenario, as the company is rapidly growing. Lots of growth potential and learning opportunities, only if you channel them in the right way.
Pros
Free Coffee (Bad though)

Terrible Company, Don't Waste Your Time Here..
Field Service Engineer (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON5 March 2019
- Useless HR department who do nothing about managers harassing and threatening you.

- Having to support horribly designed products that constantly break at customer sites.

- The sales team will regularly lie to customers about features that do not exist on a product and you being the only guy on site, will have to put up with the customer eventually figuring this out and taking their anger out on you.

- Having to fight with accounting to get your travel expenses paid on time.

- The IT dept is a mess and really cheap when it comes to providing their employees with the necessary computer equipment to do our jobs efficiently. The IT manager will throw a temper tantrum when you have to explain why you need a certain piece of equipment. They also don't backup anyone's data.

- 20+ year old multi function printers that constantly break down, requiring you to print your documents off-site.

- Dirty/Messy offices & washrooms that look like they have never been cleaned.

- Really high turnover rate at this company, it's almost like a revolving door.

- Below average salary and benefits compared to competitors.

- Only 10 vacation and 3 sick days.

- OT is not paid and the yearly bonuses are pretty pathetic.

- Tiny lunchrooms that only have a few overpriced vending machines.

- Lack of adequate parking at most buildings.

Don't waste your time with this terrible company, there are plenty of better companies out there.
Pros
Some decent people you'll meet
Cons
Only 3 sick days, Below average salary & benefits, Dirty work environment, No Paid OT, Laughable Bonuses, Really High Turnover Rate

Cutting edge technology, stressful if you don't stay on top of your work
Senior Design Engineer (Former Employee) –  Burlington, ON12 February 2019
I worked there for six years as a Senior Design Engineer. These are the most hard working individuals I have met. My immediate supervisor and the CTO were both incredibly intelligent and outstanding. If you do not stay on top of your work you can find yourself in hot water. The technology is ahead of its field. Pay is not great but there are bonuses if you do good work. Stock options are also available for certain employees.
Pros
Challenging, technology at the edge, great co-workers.
Cons
Stress, benefits, a lack of documentation.
