Beauty Advisor (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 6 January 2019
Not much communication between the brand and you at the dept store. Had to make up for their errors as far as advertisements, shortages, and lack of stock. Huge targets (20-25% increases over the prior years) were expected, very high pressured job with little pay, minimum wage.. for a skilled service job. Basically be prepared to train yourself and work with people who do not care about make up or skincare. Lots of multi tasking on a daily bases with calling clients (your clientele u must build up, and fast) answering the phones for the entire dept store, trying to do make overs where you have old brushes and little space, very outdated.. You make the best out of it and once your contract changes because it does each year ( you probably wont be told until it happens), no one cares about what you did over the years and your efforts. They just want more, more and more, hardly ever hear you did great or anything in that realm. You always feel very very undervalued. And if you cant work the new hours they want ( from full time to part time and vice versa) then too bad for you, there is another body they can hire and pressure and pay even less rather than giving you a raise for once. It is like they love when it wont work for you because they can just go the cheaper route and get someone new rather than pay you fair, how horrible.
When ur was made to leave they wont do anything to help you out as if its not your lively hood, its just a hobby you picked up over the years.. not great at all. Its a job where you give your all to your managers, clients and co workers and getmore... nothing in return absolutely nothing. The products are fantastic quality but the price hikes are rediculous, I mean twice a year...you're not hermes or LV? You have not added anything to your formula or packaging so..?
Finally, I must say the management is under qualified, they do not have people skills and do not try to understand and relate to the people that work for them but rather use old superior to you tactics , and no matter how hard you try they wont pay attention to that they will nit pick the itty bitty or the made up and will never show appreciation. And the brands pay you $6 an hour and want you to sell over $100 an hour for them. I don't know where the morals have gone from these companies and employers, but what else can I say, life goes on..I hope things change in the future.less

LINE SERVICE ATTENDANT (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 8 November 2018
The order sheet for the line supply was not prepared by the previous shift. When the line was allocated for me in the morning I did not notice that the job was finished so that I focused on preparing for the next job to provide. The supervisor called me for the delay and I explained and I had to walk him with me to prove that situation. The fault was not mine and the management helped me to rush the order to the line by doing part of the routine. I learned if there is something unsure, I better contact the line leader to verify before processing. The hardest part was to get back the line run. But yer enjoyed and relaxed the teamwork.

Production Worker (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 2 March 2018
The workplace is very strict in terms of management and work. Employees have to give their 100% in their work with sincerity and honesty. The work environment is strict while at work but the supervisors are quite easy going and humble with other employees.
