MORTGAGE PROCESSOR (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 2 October 2017
A very fast paced and multitasking work day co-coordinating with Brokers, Underwriters, funders, lawyers clients and clients employers. Learn a lot about employers, properties and various areas and requirements to process mortgages. Good management support, coaching and recognition. A very fun and multicultural workplace culture with generous benefits including free gym and yoga memberships for employees to encourage a healthy life style. The hardest part of the job is the work load but the most enjoyable part of the job is the team work during the most pressured times, especially month ends.
Management not helpful. Lack of knowledge on leading direct reports.
Customer Service Manager (Former Employee) – Toronto, ON – 20 September 2017
Highly recommended leadership courses. Working at Equitable Bank there is a lack of management. There isn't a fair workload. VP needs to be more knowledgeable about the staff. There is a lack of communication with staff. There is no set expectations and a lack of coaching.
Family oriented and fun work place with great benefits
Residential Mortgage Officer (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 6 September 2014
Equitable's bank culture and workplace environment surely are their strengths. They are a family oriented company that really understands your needs if you have to attend to family emergencies. The workplace environment is fun and the managers make you feel at home. Their doors are always opened and they are always available for your. We have a lot of team building events and great parties! On the other hand, the work load is pretty heavy and can be overwhelming at some times while the salary is on the lowest side. They rarely, if ever, approve overtime and, since you work very independently, managers do not seem to know or care if you are overloaded with things to do.
Fun work environment, benefits package, company culture.
