Great company overall and great people who work there.
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 19 March 2013
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWorking at EPCOR is very fast paced with multiple changes to the work I do. I've enjoyed my seven years of working with them, as I have learned a lot about myself, as a person, as well as where my strengths lie in the work force. I am very adaptable to change and efficient with time management. My favorite part of the company, is the people I work with. I've built great, long lasting relationships with my co-workers and managers.
Pros
incentives, the people, charities.

Memorable. They expect a lot but you are also rewarded and recognized for your hard work.
Customer Service Consultant (Former Employee) - Edmonton, AB - 16 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? They are genuinely concerned with employee health and safety as it is taken very seriously. They also promote employee engagement, they will help you move toward whatever career ambitions you have, great pay and excellent benefits. The only downside side I feel is sometimes you can feel expendable (a small guy working in a large corporation). I worked for the company for 3 years trying to get on permanent full time but they had other plans at the local worksite first before filling permanent. I had to eventually moved on so I could support my family. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Epcor pays well and provides excellent benefits but they also set high expectations of their employees. They set the bar high but you are rewarded for your hard work. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? They foster a team environment with heavy emphasis on health and safety, and employee production. You are held accountable for your mistakes. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Show up for work in a secure area (don't forget your employee work badge so you can scan in!), work hard, they provide coffee machines and a clean, safe workplace. They provide a lot for emoyees but also expect at lot from you. Sometimes you miss breaks on those busy days.

Energy Services Agent (Former Employee) - Downtown office, Edmonton, AB - 14 June 2023
EPCOR deserves all the accolades it receives about how great it is to work for this company. you are always supported and your manager is very easy to speak with and emails are responded to in the same day if not the same hour. Everyone is professional and the lunch room views are spectacular. The area is a bit sketchy but keep your head up and you will be fine. Parking is paid but they have a fantastic location for transit right by the Roger's Place LRT.
Pros
Snacks and unlimited top of the line coffee, convenient downtown location, excellent management with raise and promotion options.
Cons
Sketchy unhoused population congregate outside at the mission, late hours.

i'm only working part-time (20-29hours/week) and they currently don't have many opportunity for full time. I really love the job and management and my colleagues..i just wish they'd offer more full time opportunity.

Fun, rewarding work environment. People friendly!
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Calgary, AB - 15 May 2013
A typical day at this inbound call centre, involved a very fast paced yet, professional environment, providing superior customer service. I learned the importance in evaluating and understanding customer needs that enabled me to quickly identify sound opportunities for them. It was very important to me to always maintain 100% call quality and first call resolution, whether it be a simple or difficult call. The most enjoyable part of the job was their very strong, employee recognition days, from free lunches, barbecues, off site team building, just a fun and family oriented atmosphere.

Customer Service Representatives (Former Employee) - Was Calgary - 13 June 2012
a typical day at work is dealing with customer question about there bill and some time a little escalated I learn a lot , but one thing I have learned was how to give good customer service Management was wonderful. Because of my Co-workers being at work felt like a home away from home. the hardest part of my job was leaving and the most enjoyable part was at the end of the year when we all get to have fun at our Christmas parties.
Pros
when we have barbecues
Cons
some time long hours
