Buy in, you're in
Management Trainee (Former Employee) –  Ottawa, ON17 December 2018
Not the best work/life balance. Many good and fun coworkers but the hours are very long, many employees underpaid. If you buy in and commit to the company, you will be on the right track for success.

Damage Recovery Specialist (Canada) (Former Employee) –  Etobicoke, ON2 December 2018
new grads get lured in as they need money with false promises,
it says it is salary based but it is hourly and they work you to the ground ,
once you get promoted your pay does not jump by much but are expected to work long hours
if you get sick they still want you to come in to work as you are always short staffed
Pros
trainee program
Cons
long hours

Management Mess
Management Trainee (Former Employee) –  Winnipeg, MB29 November 2018
The facilities are run down and in need of repair. Instead of replacing equipment or fixing problems a cheap quick fix is always their answer. The facilities are usually very dark, depressing, and an afterthought. Equipment breaking down and getting a quick fix every few weeks is quite the hassle. It's hard to do a job without the required tools.

The constant turn over of staff is usually a good indicator of how companies are run. Very poor communication and the fly by the seat of your pants day to day scenarios are a constant headache. You have to wear a uniform, which is great, providing they actually give you one. A winter coat or fleece for winter they do have. Getting one is difficult. "Where is your jacket?" Well if you finally got me one I wouldn't have to wear my personal one. So you tell me where my jacket is, then I'll let you know.

From not being able to set building temperatures to changing the time of day on a computer, nothing can be done without permission from head office first. Sad but true. Poorly run and poorly maintained is a normal day.
Pros
Easy work
Cons
Poorly run

NO security in work from home position
Reservation Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Work from Home28 November 2018
All Canadian work from home agents were let go October 2018, despite being top performers. We were given no notice, or a reason why. Just that it was a `corporate decision`. We were sent a meeting invite with subject: Department Update, 30 mins before the meeting and were then all told in a video conference we were being let go. All of our direct managers had no idea and were told 15 mins before us. Do not work for Enterprise work from home unless you are prepared to lose your job at any given moment!
Cons
NO job security

Branch Manager (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON10 November 2018
Busy days but extremely fun place to work. The ability to run your own operation with the autonomy to do whatever necessary for great results. Promote within, upper management has been in the same position as you are at one time in their career.

No work/life balance. 12 hour days
Assistant Branch Manager (Current Employee) –  Calgary, AB7 November 2018
Very long hours, they burn you out quickly. Hardest part of the job is dealing with upset customers and essentially being a punching bag for angry customers. There are many opportunities for promotions, however when hiring they almost solely look at your store's financials and how you have "impacted" the business. It is unfortunate that they do not judge the individual's personality or work ethic when promoting. You have to be in the right place at the right time to be promoted.
Pros
Great team environment
Cons
12 hour days

Enterprise Rent A Car
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) –  Hamilton, ON29 October 2018
Enterprise is a great place to work for a young professional who is willing to work long, long, long hours. I average 58 hours a week as a manager. The money is good, but for an assistant manager the work load you are given and hours you must work don't balance. $51,000 (projected salary) working 55 hours a week also working weekends and holidays. After 2 years it does wear you out. Currently my area is Hamilton is 30-40% under staffed, making manager jobs very difficult. I only take my "1 hour lunch" maybe once a week. Great benefits and fast paced job, no down time. Always something to do, also a new position opening all the time. Must be willing to move, you won't stay in the same city for more then 3-5 months.
Pros
lots of perks, lunches, happy hours, party, events.
Cons
long hours, very short staffed.

One of the best sales jobs out there!
Management Trainee Intern (Former Employee) –  Edmonton, AB25 October 2018
Worked as a management trainee intern and its was a great experience. They send you to the provincial HQ for monthly training once hired, so they really prepare you for success. Also you are required to have a university degree to sell cars, so that seems like overkill.

The job has crushing hours with minimum wage, but you have the ability to move up to make big money. Management style varies from branch to branch from horrid to amazing. Luck of the draw that way.

You can get crushed by the continual metrics that they use to assess your performance, but the management tries to help you when you are stumbling–very supportive. It is an internship that I considered going back to once finished University, so that says a lot about a sales job.
Pros
Great training, management can be great, constant performance feedback
Cons
Long hours, and sales job

BRANCH MANAGER (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON14 October 2018
Average person only sticks around 2 years. Most people in the company are looking for another job. Lots of fun people to work with but the good employees are starting to find better jobs and you are left working with the bad employees.

Promotes from within
Account Manager (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON5 October 2018
Enterprise is a high paced environment. If you come to work with the drive to succeeded you will be successful. They promote entirely from within. You have to put in a lot of hard work and long hours, but it pays off.
