The work environment was poor at best, and management, well, I wouldn't say there was any real management there.
Customer Service/Sales (Former Employee) –  Brantford, ON19 February 2019
I would not recommend any work for this company. They spend every support call trying to fleece clients for money. The client as already purchased goods/services from Enercare, but, when an issue arises and they require service it is required to try and sell them more. This is a horrendous business practice.

Go work for Reliance !
Technician/Installer (Current Employee) –  GTA, ON18 February 2019
As a technician your day is controlled by a revolving door of uneducated office staff that run the day to day operations of the entire company while management hides at home or their office. Office staff will give your work away to contractors or employees from other patches sending you home with pennies some days. Corporate constantly makes the job harder while removing perks like lunch during meetings. This is a unionized company but the union does literally nothing for employees even when you complain directly to them, most union stewards take care of themselves only. Salesman know nothing about the trade and mess up 75% of the install quotes by lying to the customer to get the sale of just shear lack of knowledge. Working hours always include weekends or nights.
Pros
People will think you work for a great company
Cons
After a while you’ll realize you work for a horrible company that is constantly being soldt

Good Company - needs more IT resources though
Director, IT Operations (Former Employee) –  Markham, ON2 October 2018
Had a lot of very good, skilled employees, but everyone in IT was working way too hard for the pay provided with many extra weekend and late night hours over long periods due to lack of sufficient resources to get all the work needed to be completed in a timely fashion.
Pros
Great People
Cons
Weak Support from Senior Management

nice uniforms
Technician (Former Employee) –  Whitby, ON17 July 2018
Enercare was an excellent company to work for as far as pay and support staff and rewards programs. Unfortunatley there is a culture of upselling that is pushed upon customers who don't really need said product. Sales videos are shown to those employees who aren't making enough sales which I found to be personally embarrassing.I just wanted to be a gas technician and avoided sales because of rejection.
Pros
nice uniforms
Cons
contract work, sales orientated

Good environment to work in a team. Sales target associated but easy to achieve it until someone can smartly handle the clients. Good for entry level customer service.

Great place to work, enjoy the people and going to work.
Because it's a relatively small company you have freedom to make real change and actually make a difference.

As I was a contract employee, I can't speak to benefits or job security, but I enjoyed my time there. My boss was a great mentor and I learned a lot from her.

Junior Installer (Former Employee) –  Etobicoke, ON15 November 2017
Work hours vary depending on the job assigned that day. 6-12 hour days. Most lead installers are willing to teach but some will do so with an attitude. Management are nice but sometimes push too hard to complete jobs in 1 day when it isn't feasible. Workplace culture very much depends on wether you have the respect of the other workers or not.
Pros
Experience on wide range of HVAC equipment.
Cons
Fluctuating hours and no notice of upcoming job.
