Hard to get consistent employment
Unfortunately getting a permanent contract depends on who you know so you are often left waiting until September/October to find out if there is work for you based on funding. Education and experience don’t seem to be valued.

Rewarding but underpaid
The work itself is fantastic. Realistic expectations of staff for the most part. However being employed as a contract EA is unsustainable as pay only begins at 18.99 and though advertised as 30 hours per week, with all of the long weekends and unpaid school breaks many pay cheques are very low.You can become permanent after some years of being contract (temp), but without being permanent you are...
