Fun place to work highly competitive.

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Fun place to work lots of group activities and incentives. The bonuses are great when achieved, but the bar is set a little unrealistically high to achieve those bonuses at times. Can be a very highly competitive environment. Decent schedule for home work life balance. Cold calling can be repetitive.

Pros

Incentives, Activities, Bonuses, Decent Pay

Cons

Highly competitive, cold calling, repetitive environment.

Productive workplace if you want to learn about credit side of the finance.

Good company to work for who want to pursue his/her career in financial industry. This will be basically a Sales job were you have to sell higher interest rate loans and insurance products.

High expectations

As an FSR, you're expected to carry the company while being paid the least. Sales targets are unrealistic and even if you hit target, bonuses aren't guaranteed

No work life balance

Unhealthy work environment. Very competitive and you basically fight with co workers daily. Manager don't care about you or your personal goals. If you are good at your job and have a lazy manager, you will never grow cos you will be doing the manager's job for less pay. Very stressful and no rest . You can work 2 weeks straight no day off. They never pay overtime. Always owing your hours

Pros

If you are at a big branch monthly bonus is great if you hit your target

Cons

Extremely high target.

Avoid it

Well , it was alright if you are just starting and looking for an experience. Would not recommend to work there for more than 1 year. Experience will be valuable, you will learn a lot about lending.

No work life balance

I worked here for just over a year. There is no work life balance at this job, and according to me, no matter how much work you do it is never enough. The managers say we are all one team, but when the time comes for them to show that, they never stick to their words. This job is good for new graduates or new immigrants who have come to Canada to get experience.

Pros

None

Cons

Long hours, low pay, no appreciation

Don't quit your day job

They have a formal training that has some big holes. The branches are supposed to make up for this but the manager hates training and doesn't wnat anything to do with most people. So the Regional manager tells you to ask questions, but the branch manager tells you to look it up for yourself - lets you search for an hour or so before checking in and would rather correct and criticize than teach.

Pros

pay is good

Cons

strefful, bullies with no support

High pressure sales, very political

Managers willing to berate you as a joke. Sales targets that are not realistic, underqualified managers, low moral, dishonest managers, performance...

Cons

Regular sales events with impossible targets

Enjoyable

Really good company to work for overall. You might have a problem with an individual store manager who might not know how to manage, but overall the company is good

Pros

Bonuses, free lunches, birthday off

Cons

Might work longer hours at the end of the month to meet target, but it’s all good if you do meet target

Cons

Upsell tactics are CRIMINAL

Is Indeed your favorite place to learn about companies?

Unethical

Not a good working environment.Targets are not attainable. They will tell you they are but when 1 or 2 out of 10 branches bounus monthly. Its a complete joke. Gossip is unbelievable.Pay is not bad although there are people there who are extremely hard workers and do not get recognized. Very difficult to have a home life.Company expectations are crazy. Definitely ripping customers off. Interest is 46.96%

Pros

customers are great.

Cons

Horrible hours. Pay

A typical day at work

Run from this company as fast as you can. This company is all for profit they do not care that they are giving individuals loans at 47% interest to people who cannot afford it. For example, they will give someone on a fixed income ($1200 a month) a $10,000 loan at 47% interest that they would be paying back a total of $20,000 over the term of their loan. They want you to sell products to people and force them to take the OPTIONAL services that cost extra to make the company money. If you have to throw these services onto their loans without their knowledge your management encourages that. Terrible pay. You are expected to solicit people for money and if that means calling them at their job then you do so. They will tell you you will get bonus pay, it RARELY happens. all the managers talk about each other to the FSRS, superior management bully people. If you are completely fine with selling products for profit and harassing people for loans this job will be perfect for you.

Pros

Having Sunday’s off

Cons

Pay, work culture, management

Good Place to work if you have good management

This is a workplace that you need to constantly competing with one another. Everyone is chasing bonus, which is great but you need to struggle to get it. If you are able to hit the bonus, it feels great. But the money can only work for so long. Constantly over worked which starts to become the norm. You won't notice that you start staying later and later at work. Completely frowned on if you leave work at you set finish time. They rather you stay later to try and get another loan through the door. Most branches you eat at your desk while working because of the heavy work load or you do not eat. Benefits are okay and they'll cover you after three months of working there. Covered on most things. Not easy to book appointments since your shifts are constantly changing week by week In most branches you cannot have a day off on certain days like Monday, Tuesday or Friday. Due to the amount of work you do on a daily it's not worth the pay. If bonus was more attainable than maybe. You work directly with customers. So you'll find great people who will make you day or ones that make you want to walk off the job. You're encouraged to say whatever is needed in order to get that loan closed. I stayed in the job for two years and that was because of my manager. If you have a good manager everything will become a lot easier and they will usually take on most of the stress. Sadly, the turnaround rate in the company is high so I lost that great manager. I had two managers who are on the poor side. Most managers leave the office at a way earlier shift which leaves most of the work -

Run

This has been the WORST job I have ever had. The manager's basically sit back and do a whole lot of nothing and then take credit when you fund a loan. They get mad at you and make you feel like a child if you don't find a loan for the day. They come in to the office whenever they want, and leave whenever they want. The company has the most ridiculous target's to hit. You work 10-7 5 days a week getting paid bi weekly and for a horrible wage. You are so stressed by the time you get home that you want to cry. There are sales calls you have to make every day, collections (which is the easiest part of the job), you're made to feel horrible if you need to call in sick. Would not recommend this job to my worst enemy.

Worst place to work

Not a good place to work the managers will not do anything for you they will make fake promises the targets are impossible They do not care about employees

Pros

Nathing

Cons

Everything

Not worth it

I would give the company one star just because you get paid if you have the option it is better to look for a different job. There is a lot of pressure on employees to fund loans and sell products. The targets of the job are unrealistic and management is poor.

Good place to work for Starters

The bonus pay is good but you have to work really hard to hit the unrealistic bonus target. Too much competition that does not support team work, Workload is very stressful. work hours are 10am to 7pm, I sometimes leave by 9pm with getting paid overtime.

Pros

Bonus pay is good money but that is if you are able to make the unrealistic target

Cons

No work life balance

Excellent place

Was a very happy place. Very busy , team players were amazing to work with. They always helped you succeed in the work environment. Lots of number playing as you had to help people with finances.

Felt ripped off with the very sub-par offer that's not commensurate to extensive experiences and qualifications

Inexperienced immediate supervisor/manager with no financial services/banking or relevant experience and with minimum high-school education qualification. However, it's good that the inexperienced assigned manager was nice and humble and teachable to accept corrections/suggestions. Dealing with people with credit/financial issues further helped me grow my compassion and relentless service to people in need.

Great place

Great teamwork and inclusive atmosphere. As long as there is enough staff a work life balance is encouraged but when short staffed not so much. I would definitely work hear again

Productive and fun

Very Inviting environment to work in, company goes above and beyond to ensure their FSR's have the greatest training possible to be able to complete their day to day tasks
