Modification Team Lead (MTL) (Former Employee) –  Pickering, ON11 April 2019
Productive and fun. Professional Environment and friendly people. Challenging tasks and there was plenty to learn from the job-site tasks and also the people that I had worked with.

Two stars is pushing it
QA/QC Inspector (Former Employee) –  Niagara Falls, ON28 March 2019
This company gets jobs because they are a known name in the industry. Not because they are the best at what they do. HR is a joke. UA is a joke. Nepotism is obvious. Culture of disrespect for women in the trades
Pros
it's a job
Cons
poorly managed company

Well established company
IT Support Specialist Level 3 (Former Employee) –  Niagara Falls, ON5 November 2018
The company itself is a good and well established company. People working there have been there for many years. It has a good job culture and good benefits. It is a family business and have been going for over 75 years.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Lot of traveling

Amazing company to work for
Accounting Clerk (Current Employee) –  Niagara Falls, ON19 October 2018
E.S Fox has been an amazing company to work for, for as long as I have been there. As a family oriented company, every position makes you feel like you are making a difference and helping the company grow with you. The management of each department are always helpful and approachable. Working for a large, successful business helps you to learn different processes and grow in your career as it is a company you will want to stay with for a long time. They treat their employees with respect and reward those for the time they have been employed. There is a reason there are so many people who get to join the "25 year club". There are plenty of incentives and fun things the company does throughout the year to get everyone involved and to get people to know each other, including the executives. The hardest part of the job is learning new things and staying on task, but if you are someone who is eager to learn then it is not difficult at all.

Great company, slow days
IT Support Specialist (Former Employee) –  Niagara Falls, ON17 August 2018
Overall a great company to work for, but days were long and slow. Working 8am-5pm in a room centrally located with no windows and minimal cell phone service often made days drag by.

Floor supervisors could care less
Welder (Former Employee) –  Port Robinson, ON3 April 2018
Great company to work for in the field.

The fab shop in Port Robinson was a joke. Floor supervisors couldn't care less about getting things out the door on time.

Paid union dues without representation come bargaining time which equated to 5 year contracts with A) garbage pension contributions B) cumulative raises which were a quarter of the yearly cost of the living increase.

Those in management either inherited their positions from a parent, uncle or brother or were hired directly from clown college.

It could have been a great place to work if the floor supervision did more than stand around and smoke butts.

The guy who drew on everything was hilarious.
Pros
the older sheet metal guys and the guys on the cans made it good
Cons
the union, the management

Not a friendly atmosphere
Office Assistant (Former Employee) –  Niagara, ON14 March 2018
Many cliques & not very welcoming to newcomers. Extremely fast paced, you are expected to work full throttle 8 hours a day. Very behind in technology, the amount of paper they use is ridiculous. They need to switch to electronic copies.
HR is totally useless!!!!
Pros
Off early before a long weekend
Cons
Too many to list

Co-workers are great, overall liked my job
DOCUMENT CONTROL CLERK (Former Employee) –  Whitby, ON2 January 2018
I liked my co-workers, however the environment we were forced to work in was atrocious. The adjoining workplace made chemicals and it always smelled like those chemicals in our side of the building. The AC broke and we were forced to continue working in sweltering temperatures. No kitchen or space for breaks, so we had to clean dishes in bathroom sink.
Pros
Benefits
Cons
Inadequate standard of work environment

Extremely difficult atmosphere to learn new skills or get promoted.
Production/Fabrication Welder (Former Employee) –  Port Robinson, ON3 September 2013
Production welding the same jobs over and over.Extremely hard to learn anything new.
Co-workers are nice people but endless bellyachers.
Hardest part of the job is being motivated because of indifference by the floor supervisors.
Most enjoyable part of the job is working independently.
Pros
Steady pay cheque
Cons
The complete indifference
