Fair pay

Indeed featured review

Good company. Provided everything I needed to work from home. Very helpful, good training provided. Good hours. Friendly team. Perfect for someone who prefers to stay home rather work in an office

Only if you have no other choice

With high prices of gas and wear and tear of my vehicle, it's not worth it but I need to make money so not that bad for short-term. Sometimes I have to wait for 45 minutes to receive a dash request. The base pay is unfair (mostly $4) with respect to the kilometers you'd have to drive. The worst and most aweful feature of their app is that they give you orders so that you have to drive outside of your zone for delivery and then drive back to your zone to receive another delivery offer. This really sucks! Either pay for our kilometers back to the zone or enable us to dash in the zone we're about to deliver (more flexible)!

Fun and can be lucrative

fun and potentially lucrative job depending on your area but lots of fun. it might put some wear and tear on your car but its worth it. you get lots of stories from your day to day working here

Pros

Cons

long hours of sitting around

Great work/life balance

They need to raise base pay as prices of gas increase. Other than that I like that I can completely choose me own hours. Mother of 3 and easy to work around my schedule

Good job for who want to be on ur own schedule

Nice place to work,,however mileage should be included.Dashing out of the city brings u more tips.It does get a bit annoying when u have to keep starting your car off n on picking up n dropping off orders, especially when I have the heat or air on!Customers are often complaining when u don’t get there fast enough with the food, when most times it’s the restaurants taking long. They are in charge of the food,so we have no control of how it was prepared.Customers have food delivered to the wrong address they have provided DoorDash.Sometimes the order u were assigned to gets picked by someone else somehow, and u only get half the pay n time waisted. The most difficult customers are the ones who don’t tip!Your rating goes down when u decline orders.Your completion rating goes down of the store is closed. The gps gets u lost sometimes!Overall,it on ur own time, and u get paid after every shift!!

Pros

Paid after every shift, make ur own schedule, wear wat u want

Cons

Have to keep a certain acceptance rate or u can get deactivated, wear and tear on ur car, no paid mileage

Flexible hours

The hours are very flexible, you can work when you want. The base pay is low, around $4. People do not tip very often or very well. Distance between restaurant and delivery address is usually quite far for only $4.

Terrible pay

Pay is terrible. You spend more on gas/maintenance so you will almost never profit from this, plus you lose all the time spent “dashing” since all pay goes to vehicle expenses.

Pros

Pick when/where you wanna work

Cons

Low pay it’s pointless

Ridiculously low pay, hidden tips

Pays way less than minimum wage especially when taking into account the cost of gas, the income tax you have to pay out of pocket, and the wear on your car. The only orders that are worth your time are ones where the customer gives a big tip. The company pays you next to nothing. PLUS they often HIDE THE TIP when orders pop up. They started doing this specifically so that people will accept low paying orders in hopes that there is a hidden tip.

Pros

Flexible schedule

Cons

Low pay, have to pay taxes out of pocket, gas cost, car maintenance

Low pay

So far I've averaged about $9-$11 per hour and have to travel around 20km per order, which usually lands me outside of the area I started working in, which means I have to travel back to said area before I'm allowed to accept new orders. There have been quite a few times where I make a whopping $5 in an hour and have spent about 30-40 minutes driving. So, it's a great job if you want to make less than minimum wage and pay your own way!

Pros

Flexible hours

Cons

Ridiculously low pay

Depends on the area and time

If you're lucky to get to the onboarding for a busy enough area, it could take a few days before you're actually on the road making money. You want to take every offer possible at first, to get used to how it works and try to build your ratings. Depending on your area, you may want to get yourself into the "Top Dasher" program. In my area, it was good to do that because it was hard to get in on the bigger money that comes with daytime orders from places like Chinese food and finer dining, because nobody tips lately for fast food. Also, the schedules are booked on those good time slots, but Top Dashers can dash any time. For me, I like doing late nights and early mornings. Dashing pays less than skipping, but Dash has become good filler for me when Skip is booked solid or having a slow night.

Pros

Checking out new restaurants, no boss, quick interactions

Cons

Doesn't pay the greatest, nobody tips because you leave stuff at doors

Very progressive company, was great to work there

No complaints from me, the company had a very progressive element to it and I loved it. They delegated big responsibilities but that was part of the fun. They believed in their employees to tackle problems that could be considered out of their league.

Pros

Paid lunches

Cons

Location job security

Good work for a side job

I’ve been working for DoorDash for almost 6 months and it is a great job for a part time job or a side job but if you want to work full time with this job it does not pay super well. Tips are never guaranteed and uses a lot of gas.

Pros

Choose your own hours

Cons

Underpaid, uses a lot of gas

Brutal low paying “job”

Too many drivers makes it hard to get orders Company constantly squeezing wages Service outages happen sometimesHave missed paying me in full at times

Pros

Make your own schedule

Cons

Less than minimum wage sometimes

Dashers exploited

I have been with them for 6 months now..22$ per hour is a MYTH..You are sitting around waiting for orders keeping your car running to stay warm..I have worked 4 weeks(20hrs each week) in a row and you are lucky if you get 1 or 2 orders so it works out to may be 2 $ an hour..didnt even add the gas expense..So if you are looking to explore your neighbourhood go for it...

Avoid

This app pays very little for high KM. You will spend more money than you make. Most days you can't even schedule because they have too many drivers for the area. Inconsistent, support is not useful, unfair payment, too much driving compared to payout. By the time I stopped driving the deliveries i'd get were an average of $4-6.50 for over 20km of driving then having to drive the same distance back, I was making 1 delivery an hour due to this. DOOR DASH OPERATES ILLEGALLY AS THEY DO NOT REQUIRE THEIR DRIVERS TO HOLD AN ALCOHOL DELIVERY LICENSE YET SEND ALCOHOL DELIVERIES. You can personally get in trouble for this.

Cons

Low pay, illegal operations, hard on car

Really good job

It has been really helpful for me. Even I just delivered food from my bicycle I am able to earn money. DoorDash in my opinion it is not hard but there is competition. The most enjoyable part of my job is that I don't have an schedule, I decided when I start working and when I want to finish.

Best Position ever

I truly regret needing to leave my position with DoorDash. It was honestly the best employer I’ve ever had and I miss it immensely. It was a great atmosphere and great people

Pathetic company to work for

Do not sign up for doordash, instead do uber. You will barely make 23/hr considering the costs. Also if you begin to make a lot of money they will deactivate you from the platform for silly reasons or no reason at all. The customer tips will be stolen from you and they will still expect you to drive 12 miles for $4.50. If you decline your acceptance rate falls and they can kick you off the platform. Take my word, avoid this company at all costs!!

Don’t bother

Was all good, was doing deliveries every night and making some pocket change. Wake up one morning and go to sign in and get told I have breached the terms of service somehow, no email, no call just a banned account. Not worth the time

Pros

Your own hours

Cons

No communication

Not worth it

Not worth the hassle. Nearly 50 pecent of your income goes to gas. So you make between 100-200 dollars on full tank of gas depending on your car. It's not worth it unless you have a fuel efficient car.
