Good place to work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I enjoyed working there. My manager was very friendly and I was encouraged to work hard and put in my best. I was also adequately compensated. The work environment was not toxic

Not worth the driving time

I just drove 2 hours in downtown Toronto in the peak busy area and only got 3 calls despite being a 5star rated driver with 93% acceptance rate and made $22.00!This is definitely not worth my time and gas.

Pros

None

Cons

Not enough calls

ok place to work

my experience as a driver at doordash was good starting off as a driver during covid but recently the incentives and pay is just not good enough. I rarely can find times where it is busy enough to make a good living pay while also paying for gas and expenses.

Great place to make some money on the side.

Its a great way to make some extra money. I did it as a bicycle courier, so all the money went to me and not to the car or gas. I cant imagine it being worth it with a vehicle though. With a bike, however, it's a great side hustle. They do penalize you for being late, and I found this out because I was stuck in a pickup line at a restaurant for far too long.

Terrible job

You drive your car. You pay all the expenses related to your car and you are making way way less than minimum wage in Toronto. Its insane. Most orders are not worth doing at all. Waste of time waiting at the restaurants.

Cons

Stressful

Very flexible

Good side job since you are able to choose your own hours. Pay is alright and customers are generally very nice. Whenever there's an issue with an order, DoorDash reimburses you and is not a tedious process.

Pros

Flexible hours

Cons

Irregular demand

Work with your own time

Customer service is very helpful. Evenings and weekends are the best time to work. It’s best to have a partner if you’re working in the downtown and midtown area because of parking ticket officers. Other than that, it’s fun to work

Driver

Good work. Good compensation. Drive a economy vehicle tho. Food gets dropped off and you get wired the cash instantly roghtafter and it keeps building. I drove a cobalt and it got approved as a valid type of vehicle.

flexible but minimum pay

the App has multiple issues. It keeps showing you that the time period is busy but when you log in, no orders are available in your area. There is no way to tell how far a delivery will be beforehand, and it often takes 15+ minutes for under $10 fee with no tip.

Pros

flexible

Cons

low pay for excess driving

Great job with high flexibility

Great side gig that could also work full time. When it’s busy then you can make pretty decent pay.If you like being out and about and travelling then it’s prefect for you. However, your vehicle needs to be pretty gas efficient

Pros

Flexibility and the fact that you answer to no one

Cons

Wear and tear of vehicle, gas comes out of pocket

terrible companies to work for

its high risk using your own sources to get pay just a under minimum wage because at the end of 6 months the vehicle will consume all revenue gather from door dash, THEY MAKE IT LARGE u make the left over

Very good company

The best opportunity for newcomers. ... Good company. In my opinion, it should make more use of drivers' suggestions. To increase efficiency. Advertising is very weak.

Fun but dangerous

I guess if you like a high risk situation and low pay then this might b ok for you. If u can go hard in bad weather then you can do ok, but in good weather you might not make much.

Worst company ever

no respect to drivers they kick you out when ever they want without notice. 2 3 customers give you less that 4 out of 5 you are gone. resturant may delay the food, you are paying the price. I called doordash they hanged up on me after deactivation. I you dont make much money. Dont waste your time.

You can earn well by driving a lot

The app is interesting and works but at various times for you to earn well you have to run a lot at least 100km / day and the winnings will be on average $ 1.00 / km driven. The problem is that it does not include gasoline or car maintenance. In short, as much as you run a lot, you'll rarely make more than $ 14.50 / hour.

Productive and enjoyable work

Great organization with countless advantages that display many benefits. Allows you to work on your own schedeule which is very flexible with timings on a daily basis.

No orders and No customer support

You spend more time just waiting for orders that never come. You waste gas driving to "HOT SPOTS" and still , nothing.Total waste of time, don't do it!! If you have questions and need answers from their support team, good luck. walk away

It's just ok

They fool you thinking you can make 25 an hour but it's less than that. Pay is not great unless you can get 2 or more deliveries in an hour which I struggle with. It's been so slow I sometimes get only 1-2 per hour. They used to pay well and have lots of bonus on deliveries but that's gone. There is too many drivers on now don't be fooled by the ads claiming you can make 1000/week. Pay averages about 65c/ km and they don't pay you pick up mileage only delivery

Pros

Good work life balance. Work when you want

Cons

Lots of driving and mileage for average pay
