Good Pay During Peak hours

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
can be slow at night, some people don't tip, have to keep track of their own taxes, and wear and tear on your car is a downside. Good Part time job otherwise

It worth to have a try if you want to have a flexible schedule work experience and get a quick look at restaurants in the city.

What is the best part of working at the company? You can make your own schedule and work anytime best for you. You also have chance to visit different restaurants and drive to different neighborhoods around the city. But don’t expect much earning from this job. It was the way below average salary. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The time limit on the app is stressful and it does not consider the traffic and waiting time inside restaurants which happens all the time. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? You work alone and only can contact the company when need help by phone. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Drive around the city with hot meals smells in your car.

Low pay

Lots of sitting around, lots of small orders and not alot of money to be made. It's not a very good job but I you really have nothing else it's ok I suppose

Be your own boss

I have been doing DoorDash for a few years now off and on. You definitely have to bring your A game and provide awesome customer service and build rapore with customers and merchants. You will have your slow times and busy times and time management is vital. A person can definitley bring in a living doing this full time, you will just put the milage on your vehicle. Know your routes and drive well!

Pros

Own schedule, work anytime, more freedom

Cons

Vehicle mileage, some orders can be not worth it

Possible option for a side hussle but pay is less than deserved

Spent most of the day waiting for the delivery rushes during lunch & dinner. Naturally started only accepting deliveries that tipped well so options became limited if you only use one app to deliver. No real management so resource & time management can be adjusted for your liking. Hardest part of the job was balancing how much you spend with how much you make. Can easily become unprofitable if your deliveries are not chosen well & done efficiently. Most enjoyable part of the job was how much freedom there was. Some days you don't want to work or even want to deliver in a different part of the city & you can easily do those.

Pros

Flexible work schedule, Freedom to choose where you want to work, Management of your own time & resources

Cons

Low pay & not worth the gas you spend driving

It’s alright

been doordashing in north end of Edmonton for awhile now and it’s ok, wish the base pay was just a little higher though. If you have any problems it’s pretty easy to get ahold of someone on support and get it sorted out

Easy gig

Easy gif where you set your own schedule. Pay can be great if you schedule yourself for peak times. Merchants have been nice and helpful with me. Would recommend

Fun job

Enjoyable job while choosing your own hours. It’s great part time work for evenings and weekends, the pay is decent but you’ll see more profitably with a fuel efficient vehicle.

Pros

Choosing your own hours

Cons

Putting miles on your vehicle

More Mileage used and Paid less than $1 per km

It is true that you may reach $23/hr during busy time but there’s a catch. You will never get paid more than $1 per km and distance was an average of 10-12km per order. And I doubt that they give the whole tip because you never get paid more than $15 or maybe customers don’t tip because of high fees. The annoying part for the drivers is you have to check everything they ordered even they paid it online. No transaction reference only by name of customer.

Pros

Extra Income, schedule flexibility

Cons

More mileage used, paid less than $1/km, checking items ordered.

waste of time

you are basically working for free...not only for door dash ...any other technology company like uber, ski the dishes etc..its modern form of slavery...praying on unemployed vulnerable people

not good dont work here work for skip

was not good they don't pay for your gas even if the ordered was canceled and driving around all over the city for a $10 order was not fair. they don't care if you get in a crash on the job

Only if you're really desperate

Do not believe the adds saying $23+ an hour. Will never happen. You will be lucky to hit $10 for the 2 busy rush hours then nothing. Too much time between orders and the distance needed to travel between them is ridiculous.

Pros

Flexible?

Cons

Poor pay, tips are factored into your "pay", zero customer service for drivers, can be waiting nearly an hour for a single delivery

Don't do it

Long wait times between deliveries. Move to a busier section of the city and still long wait for a delivery assignment. Wrong addresses of restaurants sometimes by 30km. I got stuck with the cost of the gas and 40 minute of my time. Annoying texts while driving (going in the wrong direction, there's road blocks and construction and have to take another route). Bad reviews.

Flawed system

They will send you to the wrong place 15 mins out of the way and won't compensate for their app not knowing where it is sending you . not worth the head ache or the gas.. Boycott door dash all together !!!!

Pros

Flexible

Cons

Too many cons, don't waste your time

Most of the order are far apart.

I had been dasher for a month, after having order from north to south and east to west of edmonton, I decided not to continue with door dash, customer service is hard to reach when you have issue in you delivery.

Pros

Your own schedule

Cons

Pick up point and customers are far apart.
