Discount is a good place to work very laid back and easy to learn but only thing is the pay for what we do in a day is not appropriate. We should be getting at least a couple dollars more for what we do in a day.

This company has such a high turnover especially in retail that no employee sticks here for long. The management is always looking to save money and is cheap. That's why the salary & benefits offered is way lesser than the competition. No to mention the company's aging retail offices and head office, (which has a small cafeteria that has no heating)

Most importantly, the company has no success plan for new hires and you are thrown in the fire from the first day. Not only the employees are demotivated but the clients also face challenges on a regular basis when it comes to meeting service requirements such as I.T issues related to booking vehicle, vehicle availability, cleanliness and customer service.

if you're a new immigrant you will be hired

They have a 6 month probation period for a reason and at 2 weeks before mine was up I found my job posted on line. They never keep anyone past the probation period. Min wage job, no proper training, no one to answer questions, head office has a high turn over so no help there. Corporate accounts never get set up. So you have to make excusses to cover up for managment. They black ball your ROE so you have no chance for EI benefits.
You have to supply your own office supplies. You have to borrow cleaning supplys from neighbours if you run out.
I would never recommend anyone to consider this company for employment. Unless thats what your looking for just a temporary job until you find something permanent.

Honestly, what can I say, they are like a lot of companies that do not care about their employees and only care about money. They cut hours to compensate for the minimum wage increase. The only good thing I have to say about the company is that you meet some great people working there and you become a little family. The politics with this company are terrible. The job is more for kids just coming out of high school looking for some quick money. It is very hard to move up in the company.

Working at Discount you must fit in with the others extreamly judgmental. Managment are not professional at all no management skills period.Working in the morning customers arrive on time drop of car supervisor doesn't open the door till 825am. Employees treat customers not well as they treat there own staf the same. To experience this apply and see for yourself.

They do not teach you any office responsibilities until you clean cars and pick up customers for a few weeks. Management is terrible. You eat while working so don't ask if you are entitled to a break.
