Worst company to work with
Account Manager (Former Employee) –  North York, ON22 January 2019
This company has such a high turnover especially in retail that no employee sticks here for long. The management is always looking to save money and is cheap. That's why the salary & benefits offered is way lesser than the competition. No to mention the company's aging retail offices and head office, (which has a small cafeteria that has no heating)

Most importantly, the company has no success plan for new hires and you are thrown in the fire from the first day. Not only the employees are demotivated but the clients also face challenges on a regular basis when it comes to meeting service requirements such as I.T issues related to booking vehicle, vehicle availability, cleanliness and customer service.
Pros
if you're a new immigrant you will be hired
Cons
Bad Management & low reputation in the industry, I.T issues pertaining to booking, Less Pay & Benefits

Worst experience ever
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  AB9 December 2018
They have a 6 month probation period for a reason and at 2 weeks before mine was up I found my job posted on line. They never keep anyone past the probation period. Min wage job, no proper training, no one to answer questions, head office has a high turn over so no help there. Corporate accounts never get set up. So you have to make excusses to cover up for managment. They black ball your ROE so you have no chance for EI benefits.
You have to supply your own office supplies. You have to borrow cleaning supplys from neighbours if you run out.
I would never recommend anyone to consider this company for employment. Unless thats what your looking for just a temporary job until you find something permanent.

Hard to move up
Customer Service Specialist (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ON30 November 2018
Honestly, what can I say, they are like a lot of companies that do not care about their employees and only care about money. They cut hours to compensate for the minimum wage increase. The only good thing I have to say about the company is that you meet some great people working there and you become a little family. The politics with this company are terrible. The job is more for kids just coming out of high school looking for some quick money. It is very hard to move up in the company.
Pros
Free lunch on Friday
Cons
Not enough hours

Working at Discount you must fit in with the others extreamly judgmental. Managment are not professional at all no management skills period.Working in the morning customers arrive on time drop of car supervisor doesn't open the door till 825am. Employees treat customers not well as they treat there own staf the same. To experience this apply and see for yourself.

Special Projects/Agent Administrator (Former Employee) –  Calgary, AB22 August 2018
Wage is mediocre for most positions, with promises of bonuses that end up being fairly low due to bonus structure. Hours can be long, and support from head office can be severely lacking most of the time.
Pros
Good people locally
Cons
Low benefits and perks

They understand that you have a life outside of work. You get to drive cars around all day which doesn't feel like work. Great part-time summer job to keep for multiple years.

Lack of management and training
Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Red Deer, AB5 July 2018
There was a definite lack of leadership and training. Store was without a manager for a long period of time and when one was finally hired she had no previous experience in the industry and it showed. The company did not provide her with enough training so she could not help us when we needed it as she did not have the answers to give.

Amazing team outings
Customer Service Specialist (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ON3 June 2018
If a customer is unsatisfied, don't bother bringing it up to the management cause they clearly don't care. In-turn they'll only try to throw you under the bus.
