Excellent Growth Opportunity
Team Leader (Current Employee) –  United States28 May 2017
Dialogue Direct provides an excellent opportunity, especially for recent grads to discover their footing and gain real-world experience.

The culture is unparalleled, and the possibilities for advancement are unmatched. For many people, the company will not be a long-term fit, but retention and training are highly valued at DialogueDirect. If you find that it is a good fit, compensation is the highest in the face-to-face fundraising industry, and management will support you in your personal goals.

The work/life balance can be difficult, especially as you advance into leadership roles, or if you struggle with personal production.

I wouldn't trade my time at DialogueDirect or the people I work with for the world.

Supportive Environment but tough job
Team Leader (Current Employee) –  New York, NY6 February 2017
Come in to a great group of motivating individuals. You must bring a good attitude, strong work ethic because skill alone does not help you. Best part of the jobs are the incentives, hardest part is the ignorance of the public. It'll get to you, but I promise you won't die!
Pros
Free lunches, trips, competitions
Cons
Stupid members of public, bad weather

Positive Outdoor Work Environment
Team Leader (Former Employee) –  Boston, MA7 September 2016
DialogueDirect is a wonderful place to grow your skill set and work with fun and exciting people. You get get to work around major city foot traffic areas representing global nonprofits and meeting new people everyday. Your management is very supportive and caring for your growth and if you really commit you may even be able to travel around to different cities is in the US to fund raise there as well. The hardest part of the job will always be varying weather conditions and rejection from people who do not want to stop and talk to you.
Pros
Fun and Positive
Cons
Weather and Rejection

Entry-level job
Team Leader (Current Employee) –  New York, NY20 December 2015
Fun place to work, however goals on numbers puts a lot of pressure on every employee creating stressful situations
Good place to work in your early 20's as entry-level
Pros
Fun to work with a team/can be yourself, enough breaks throughout the day
Cons
Outdoor job (even Winters), compensation very low (difficult to live on this salary in any major city, especially NYC)

Fun workplace.. working for a good cause
Team Leader (Former Employee) –  Chicago, IL27 November 2015
Street fundraising is not the easiest job you will ever have, but it will make your skin thicker, because of hundreds of rejections. And your skill will become way sharper.
Pros
Working for a good cause and paying bills
Cons
Whole day on the feet

Stay for the peers, leave for the management
Team Leader (Former Employee) –  New York, NY23 May 2014
It can be, at times, a very stressful gig. It is also rewarding. Dealing with the public and different methods of interaction can be daunting and most won't survive past their first month. If you do survive, your success with be noticed immediately, you will be supported by most...
Eventually, the politics (i.e. the management, organization) will eat away and will evoke a need for more. The ladder can be climbed quite quickly here.
The job is a good gateway for finding one's natural skills and abilities as well as those one needs to improve upon. I enjoyed the early years and had a strong distaste for the latter. But that was just me.
Pros
Working outside; supportive teams; young group of motivated people
Cons
incoherence; never-ending power struggles; some days feel wasted quite easily
