Used to be a great company...
Bilingual Auto/Home insurance sales agent (Former Employee) –  Gloucester, ON15 August 2017
Used to be a fun respectable company to work for, however recent management has slowly stripped away all the perks of the job. Used to be a place where you'd show up to work and actually enjoy being there, it did not have that call centre feel to it and the culture was great. It only took but a few from upper management to swiftly bring in change, change which resulted in less chance for bonuses, less chance to move up, less chance for true opportunity unless you are OK with taking on more responsibility with little to no proper compensation in return.

The company is very driven to ensure their employees are not compensated for roles which are deemed higher in nature within the Insurance world, instead they praise and promote them as Lateral moves.

No different than any other run of the mill call centre. Thus Workplace culture is non existent.

When it comes to employee engagement, incompetence runs rampant within the management team.

Worst part of the job is meeting or exceeding your sales targets and not qualifying for a bonus because customer's did not give you a score of 9/10 out of 10. Or because you did not receive enough customer surveys for the month.

When Management pushes their employees to read the book "Who Moved my Cheese" you have an understanding of how they run the show. Sit down shut up do your job don't ask questions don't complain it is what it is be happy to have a job.

too micromanaged and cliquey
Litigation Advisor (Former Employee) –  mississauga, ON24 May 2017
Management will either like you or don't. Desjardins is a good company overall, which does well. Unfortunately the workplace culture was negative and almost seemed to be that a bit internal based. I was however able to create positive moral in my own department where I initiated an outreach program with the heart and stroke to raise money for that organization and rallied a group of us to participate as a unit and to have some fun while doing so. Unfortunately they don't allow you to learn if they don't want you to learn which is to bad. My true capabilities were not allowed to shine at this company and felt I was being held back tremendously.
Pros
nothing
Cons
micromanaged, poor training and career growth- favorites

The environment is very casual however there is little room for career progression, compensation is poor and too much "red tape" preventing efficiency.

Directeur de comptes (Current Employee) –  Gatineau Quebec21 March 2017
The culture at TD Canada Trust is great. The benefits for the employees is above average. Since it's a bank the turnover of employees is pretty high. The competition between banks is also extremely competitive.

Had a great time but the domain was not for me. Great company, great salary with a lot of benefits. Management was not good, to get a promotion you need to know the people more than to be qualify.

Client Service Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Mississauga, ON1 December 2016
The company is very organized and they care about their co-workers.

A typical day is very busy doing various tasks.

The management is ok, They could praise the employees and make them feel that they did an exceptional job.

I would say the company is great. Its the Managers that don't seem to connect with the workers.

Its an established organisation however it is not a great place to work in terms of salary/benefits, job security and job culture. they hire unqualified individuals as a way of paying low salaries. This has a negative effect on employee engagement.

Desjardins is a great place to work, a strong coop financial institution with his history, his financial strength and his value. My role as an ambassador is to share our greatness through excellent and efficient solution and service for our customers. Our team is dedicated to serve the client to the best level possible. It's a pleasant environment and we have the support to shape our financial solution. I will love to stay if my salary was enough to cover my financial needs. Leaving the company is the hardest thing to do.
