Deckhand (Former Employee) –  LaSalle, ON9 April 2018
A Typical day at work would consist on set up for a job site. As a deckhand you are in charge of rigging barges to the tugboat and general ship maintenance. There are many skills to learn at Dean construction Mostly in regards to the marine construction field, like moving barges and operating machinery on the water.

cold in the winter on the water!
Operator/Labourer/Deckhand (Former Employee) –  Windsor, ON27 November 2013
work was very fridged being that your on the water in the winter breaking ice with the tug boat and having to be outside all day getting soaked. i learned that safety on the water is very important! i found it hard to live a regular life cause i would get told i would be out of town for a week and was gone for a year or months at a time. Breaking ice off the front of the tug boat a very demanding job cause the deck could have an inch to 5 inches of ice and that all has to be broken and thrown over board. summer time is a great time of year to be on the water !
