great way to see the country

fast pace and a ton of responsibility, not for everyone but i enjoyed the time i had there. Not for the family man/woman as it requires extended absence from home.

Management is not what they say are

Management makes a lot of promises when hiring, but fails miserably right after. When your around the “higher” supervisory positions, you will find out they talk about everyone behind their backs and don’t have the proper experience to talk to individuals and keep opinions to themselves. As far as work goes, the work is ok and guys are good. However the work is go hard when it’s there but if it slows down you sit and they won’t communicate when they have work. You have to always be on top of them to keep getting the work. Management makes more mistakes then the guys learning the jobs. People hired are there because they need bodies

Great team to work with

Collaborated well with others. Molded the team to be a lot more relaxed and open environment. Initiated social activities and office supplies essential.

Fast paced, stressful work that compensates well

I would still be working for Davaco if they had consistent projects, but they often go 3 months to a year without jobs. Working for Davaco entails working on the road, travelling a lot and only being home for 4 days a month a lot of the time. I would only recommend this job to someone who is looking for away from home work, that compensates well. If you have a family with kids this job may be difficult. Also the work is often during night time, and extremely stressful as jobs have extremely strict deadlines and often pose many challenges. If you are fast and effective at solving problems, motivating people and doing clean, efficient work then you will thrive in this job.

Paid expenses, lots of hours, reasonable management, variety of work

Long hours, working away from home, night time shifts

Paid well, perhaps management has changed

Fast paced work with tight deadlines servicing the food and beverage industry at that time I was there. Some work was simply trade oversight. Other trades hired did poor quality work, management at the company was disorganized and treated employees poorly. Pay was great but the headaches suffered from management were not worth it. Good gig I suppose if you are single as I was then.

Productive and fun workplace

Relaxed work environment. Well sttled contractors and teams accross Canada and USA. Good and helpful cooworkers, good management and workplace culture. Long hours on projects and long driving times but overall a good company with good benefits and nice people to work with.

Dont go

Canadian side of davaco is a joke the man running the show is a big alcoholic who just screams orders with no knowledge of what he is screaming about.

Pretty grim place to work. Upper Management was weak and not qualified.

Grateful to have gotten the experience but was happy to leave. Upper management needs to be restructured. Very weak morale compasses and shady. They need to recognize the staff that execute work, not hoard success.

productive and fun

it was a lot of out of town work and had to work nights, so if your looking for a normal schedule the job i was doing is definitely not for you, otherwise good pay and kept me busy.

lots of travel required

working with lots of different trades around Canada. A day at Davaco could be putting up racking to remodling a bathroom. The hardest part of the job was travling away from family.

very upbeat and fun environment to work in

Every day I looked forward to starting my shift. The work was rewarding, the team environment made it a lot of fun. They took good care of their employees, always covering travel expenses and very accommodating.

Fun not recommended if you need regular full time work

there were some really great things about being there and part of the team, however sometimes you never see people again after a job ends and there is a lot of uncertainty about when you will be working next.

good team atmosphere

not diversified enough for merchandisers

davaco was a great job, paid really well to travel all over canada doing different types of renovations. management wasn't the best but not bad enough to hate the job. work is not always steady though, could be woking steady for a year then laid off for half a year. if the work was steady i would work there for the rest of my life.

work all over north america

not scheduled good, never knew when going home, work ran out.

with davaco you would travel 6-8 weeks out of province at a time with very little or no info is provided by management about when projects will be done, or when the next one will start up. This said I did enjoy working for davaco, and learned many good skills while there

long hours

Great travel

Not to happy long hours with little travel pay . No job security and lots of changes to management. And dealing with out of country staff as well makes for confusion on jobs and little help for time and travel expenses .little learning . All night work .co workers change and lots of negative people. That quit

Long hours little pay for travel and meal allowances

interesting place and travel across canada

interesting to survey jobs from eastern to western Canada. Independent work ethic is necessary. Flexibility and strong work ethic required.

Interesting projects

Mostly construction and carpentry projects Canada wide. The lessons learned are Construction operations, Safety, requirements, laws, carpentry and masonry applications. Passive Management In the past were involved electrical and electronic based projects were my competency was highly required but now not anymore. The team/teams is competent and great as long as they are committed to work as a team. The hardest part of the job is dealing with traveling, long hours and various risks along the way. The most enjoyable part of job is the completion of all projects after all the hard work and sacrifice.

Good salary and benefits

Long hours and a lot of traveling involved

Great employees

Load truck for delivery.I learned alot of new city streets, acoss Ontario.Management was great ,always helpful, always looked for your input about your job to make it easier. Co-workers also great and willing to go the extra distance to help. Some people would say the length of time on the road is the hardest, but I quite enjoyed it. The best part was staying overnite in a city you have yet to discover.

hotels and meals expensives covered by company.

not the best hourly rates but not the worst.
