Fun not recommended if you need regular full time work
Merchandiser (Former Employee) –  Kitchener, ON GTA as well17 August 2017
there were some really great things about being there and part of the team, however sometimes you never see people again after a job ends and there is a lot of uncertainty about when you will be working next.
Pros
good team atmosphere
Cons
not diversified enough for merchandisers

davaco was a great job, paid really well to travel all over canada doing different types of renovations. management wasn't the best but not bad enough to hate the job. work is not always steady though, could be woking steady for a year then laid off for half a year. if the work was steady i would work there for the rest of my life.
Pros
work all over north america
Cons
not scheduled good, never knew when going home, work ran out.

Site Surveyor (Former Employee) –  all canada27 February 2017
with davaco you would travel 6-8 weeks out of province at a time with very little or no info is provided by management about when projects will be done, or when the next one will start up. This said I did enjoy working for davaco, and learned many good skills while there
Pros
travle
Cons
long hours

Not to happy long hours with little travel pay . No job security and lots of changes to management. And dealing with out of country staff as well makes for confusion on jobs and little help for time and travel expenses .little learning . All night work .co workers change and lots of negative people. That quit
Pros
Travel
Cons
Long hours little pay for travel and meal allowances

interesting to survey jobs from eastern to western Canada. Independent work ethic is necessary. Flexibility and strong work ethic required.

Interesting projects
Field Construction Manager (Current Employee) –  Woodbridge, ON6 October 2014
Mostly construction and carpentry projects Canada wide.

The lessons learned are Construction operations, Safety, requirements, laws, carpentry and masonry applications.

Passive Management

In the past were involved electrical and electronic based projects were my competency was highly required but now not anymore.

The team/teams is competent and great as long as they are committed to work as a team.

The hardest part of the job is dealing with traveling, long hours and various risks along the way.

The most enjoyable part of job is the completion of all projects after all the hard work and sacrifice.
Pros
Good salary and benefits
Cons
Long hours and a lot of traveling involved

DZ Driver (Former Employee) –  Woodbridge, ON28 November 2012
Load truck for delivery.I learned alot of new city streets, acoss Ontario.Management was great ,always helpful, always looked for your input about your job to make it easier. Co-workers also great and willing to go the extra distance to help. Some people would say the length of time on the road is the hardest, but I quite enjoyed it. The best part was staying overnite in a city you have yet to discover.
Pros
hotels and meals expensives covered by company.
Cons
not the best hourly rates but not the worst.
